Move the ball. The Kings have two horrible defenders in Bibby and Bonzi, and we're making it easy for them by running 4 down. I love Tim Duncan and he's playing great, but they can wait VERY late in his offensive cycle to double and rotate. While most of you were wailing and weeping last night, I was watching at about the 9 minute mark of the 4th when the Spurs scrapped 4 down. THEY GOT INTO THE PAINT. At that point they were too far down to make any move, they missed a few shots and FTs and Pop emptied the bench. The point is that when B&B are beaten off the dribble, the Kings must rotate IMMEDIATELY to cover for them. If the second ball handler penetrates, their defense is in shreds. The paint is open, as are the perimeter shooters.

Should activate Sean Marks to come in the game and break Bonzi's nose by clocking him in the face, it'd be worth the F2+ejection+fine, just have to make it look accidental to avoid lifetime ban. Or just play like the Spurs we all know can own the Kings.

Bonzi IS a horrible defender on anyone who can dribble. You can break him down like a two dollah crack ho. The problem is, the Spurs aren't atacking the weakness.

Bonzi isn't a terrible defender, he is quite solid.

No guard is taking him downlow and scoring, and he is quick enough laterally to not be a turnstile.

Did I say take him down low? No. I recall saying TAKE HIM OFF THE DRIBBLE.

The advantages in size and weight that he has in the post are weaknesses on the perimeter.

Did everyone just totally brain lock and forget game 1?

Need to go at him and get him in foul trouble.

Go at him, up fake, get him off his feet then draw the foul.

Get him out of the game, then you do better.

Hopefully. :lol

Not particuly. His size helps him out on the perimeter because he has long arms and can contest shots. It also helps him fight through screens.

He isn't slow, either. We aren't talking about Steve Smith defending the perimeter here, Bonzi has solid lateral movement and decent quickness. He is by no means a bad defender, and isn't someone you can repeatedly go at and expect to dominate.

Like I said, he isn't a Steve Smith, Steve Nash, Mike Bibby type who can/could be easily exposed on the perimeter. I consider him a slightly above average defender, and if he was on the Spurs i'm sure everybody would think of him as a good defender.
