Dice outplayed him. The Pistons had a 15 point lead that they worked up with Hunter, Delk, and Dice. Then Ben and Rip came in and started playing like it was an And1 game and blew the lead. Ben deserved to be on the bench.

Of the opponents out of these top three teams, Spurs also had the hardest draw. Kings were playing at the level of a 3 or 4 seed towards the end.

That's what you get when TJ Ford tries to check Chauncey. Chauncey is just WAY too strong for him.

Not to mention they were intentionaly fouling.

FreshPrince22

how about tj ford

He's a tough matchup. He's got Parker like quickness but a better jumper. Chauncey was playing him like Parker (giving up the jumper), but he was nailing them all game long. Then he gets out in transition and he's pretty much unstoppable with a head of steam.

Defensively though he struggled. Hence 16 FTs from Chauncey.

Flip just said ben said to just let dice play because he was having a great game and ben wasn't so he let dice play. BEN = Team player.

I hope that's true. But still, Ben needs to do something. Dice has easily outplayed him in the playoffs.

Dice: 26.5mpg, 11.5ppg (63%), 9.0rpg, 1.3bpg
Ben: 30.8mpg, 2.5ppg (25%), 9.2rpg, 1.25bpg

Ben isn't even bringing defensive energy and his O is a joke. He needs to bring something and he isn't.

Is there a reason McDyess never gets a call? He never, ever gets a borderline call. I don't understand it at all...

Pistons < Spurs

how about tj ford

OVERRATED. All he has is quickness. He tries to speedy gonzalez it to the basket for a layup...realizes his shit'll get blocked....then tries to pass it out, usually out of control, usually ending in a turnonver.

His speed reminds me of Parker alot. But the difference there is that TP is a finisher. He will get his layups. Ford will hesitate, and pull it back.... Unless it's a fastbreak opportunity where he is completely open.

His defense is non-existent.

He is not a good passer in the half court.

He does not create well for his teamates.

He got some jumpers to go in tonight, but over half of those came while Chauncey played well off of him......because he knows Ford is not a threat.

The last game, Ford's stats looked nice (15 assists) because the Bucks hit 60%. Willimas and Redd were on fire.

Ford is a defensive liability, and a turnover waiting to happen.

Ben was not that bad. When the opposing team shoots 55% from the field, there aren't many rebounds to be had. And, when the opposing team shoots almost all jumpers, there are a lot of long rebounds. Ben never got into a rhythm because of his foul trouble. I don't think he lost a max contract or he needs a talk from his wife. He could definitely play better, but he was not as bad as some of you make it appear. He did miss that bunny where he was calling for a foul ... but he didn't get fouled. He just missed the lay-up. Hopefully, he'll get a better whistle at the Palace.

2. McDyess does not a get a good whistle. But, he usually DOES foul when he gets called. That technical foul was completely justified. He got ticked off at Bogut for tangling with his elbows and Dice lost his cool a little bit. Not a big deal, but the T was justified. And, most of his fouls are also.

3. I like TJ Ford's game. I don't think he has a better jumper than Tony Parker, whoever said that. I think TJ Ford needs a lot of development with his game, but he's come a long way. In college, he had absolutely NO jumper. He's improved it tenfold. It's still not consistent, but from where he was in college, he's much better. He needs to find a little more control. Many of his turnovers were silly mistakes forcing passes or forcing plays that were not there. But, his speed alone forces defenses to play on their heels. He was aggressive and exceptional in the third quarter and single-handedly got the lead for the Bucks in the second half. He will never be a great defender, but that's why the Bucks need a shot-blocker in their frontcourt. TJ Ford is still more of an asset than a liability on the floor for his team. But, he might end up being better suited as a back-up change-of-pace point guard, like Speedy Claxton or Brevin Knight or Earl Boykins.

Yeah, but I think, in the playoffs especially, it's more valuable to be 18-30 from the FT line than it is to be 20-22. More FTA usually translates to more aggressive play and it definitely transplates into more fouls and foul trouble for the other team.

That's the biggest effect of Duncan and Manu having off years.
