Phew, we got this game. We're lucky Fin, Manu, and Tim had great second halves.

I also never thought I'd see the day that Bowen is actually valuable to us on offense and worthless on defense. He really couldn't guard anybody today except maybe Bibby.

Still, 3-2, kinda like the Seattle series, and a tough road win could close it out.

Everyone was talking sweep after game 2, and they were IDIOTS. Manu disappeared, and so did our chemistry. We've won this one but the series is not over. When we are leading by 22 in the 4th in game 6, then bring your trash talk.

Why must people crow before the fat lady has sung? In my experience, it is the most assured way to bring on an upset.

Sacto played an almost perfect offensive game, and lost by 11. They got a TON of FTs, shot lights out from 3, and fell well short. Discouraging for them.Naw, 8 points from Bibby is disappointing. Sayin' it like it is, we had our opportunities even without Bibby shooting well. Continuing the defense at the basket would have made our world a little brighter for sure.

Keys to the win tonight, in no particular order.

(1) Outrebounded Sacto 40-30.
(2) Got to the free throw line and hit the shots.
(3) Bonus offense from Bowen (16 points).
(4) *27 assists on 39 made shots*. That is Spurs ball.
(5) Shot over 57%. Finding the open man (see #4) helps.
(6) Timmay "try and stop this shit" Duncan.
(7) Manu "back to normal" Ginobili.
(8) Tony Freakin' Parker.

RuffnReadyOzStyle
05-02-2006, 11:16 PM
Ex, I'd agree with you except that's what people were saying after game 2 (and game 2 of the Finals last year, remember?). However, we then fell in a hole of our own making on both occassions and allowed both teams to get back in the series.

We don't seem to be able to slow Sacto down, so I don't see why they won't continue to exploit the holes they've already found.

Game 6 will be yet another shitfight, batton down the hatches!

So...

The Spurs outshoot the Kings 57% to 44%.
They outrebound the Kings 40-30.
They ring up 27 assists to the Kings' 17.
The Big 3 collect 72 points on 26-40 shooting (65%) and 22 rebounds.

We need to keep Artest from stealing everything in sight (5 steals tonight). That's what let Sacto get back in the game late.

When Artest makes defensive plays, it amps up his offensive game (eg his 14 point fourth quarter when he was making plays, vs. ten the other three quarter combined).

I am pleased to say that the Spurs in the last couple of minutes of the game did what they have been needing to do all series- take the ball inside and go at Brad Miller. Game over. :)

Tonight proved once again- it is about the turnovers. 1 turnover in the third quarter- big lead; 5 turnovers in the first half of the fourth quarter- lose big lead. Quit turning the ball over and force a couple of turnovers. Game over.

Listening to Walter P. on the WOAI postgame - I couldn't agree more. We are right on on Offense, but where is that smothering Spurs Defense of the past? We need to pick it up a lot on D

That was Jeff Vexler.

The offense ISNT great.

The SPurs got quite complacent quite a few times.

Pop, no Ginobili and Duncan in the game at the same time? Very very bad idea.

The defense on these guys was good, they just made some tough ass shots.

Like the three by Bonzi to tie it at 91.

Parker was up in his freakin grill, he bagged it.

If the Spurs play that kind of D thursday, and Bonzi and Artest come back to earth a tad, the Spurs run away with game 6.

Ginobili finally got back to being agressive.

Parker's jumper is now 2 games in a row solid. HUGE jump shots made by Parker in that 4th quarter, it had to do wonders for him.

And Timmy was Timmy, just abusing Miller and THomas and whoever htey threw at him.

Great sight to see Timmy D DOMINATING the paint.

think in the latter half of the 4th, the Spurs started to get the hang of guarding Artest and Bonzi.

Bonzi and Artest forced some bad shots, while ARtest was forced baseline, but help came and he forced a bad shot.

If Pop could record that sequence, and show Bowen and Ginobili that over and over and over and over, it might pound into their head,

FORCE THEM BASELINE! NOT THE MIDDLE.

BTW, what is Joey Crawford Bonzi's bitch now?

That was disgusting.

I'd like to hear the explanation for starting him and then benching him

not playing defense for one....

He's not injured, Pop just has his head up his ass

Winning is never enough...

God your a grumpy asshole.

Just the basic chitchat. She was watching Tony warmup while I was talking to Tony's dad and Pierre. Eva and I just shook hands and exchanged greetings.

She's cute because she's like a 7th grader watching her boyfriend on the school's basketball team. She is all giddy when she watches him. Very cute.
