i heard orry was starting because of WOAI, how did you find out is there a starting lineup report on some nba website to view? for example i didn;t know Tim was going to start since they just mentioned orry

I figured this would happen. Let's see if Pop does what I think he's going to do.

I'm going to guess it's a given that Tim Duncan starts on any team against any team in this league.

Oh, and props to putting Horry in the starting lineup, now just have him D up on Bonzi.

Horry For 3!

I saw Horry being interview on I think ESPN and he said he could very well start tonight, that they were thinking about it. Also that he would play a lot more mins.

i dont like it

horry needs to be in mid-late 2nd, early 3rd, late fourth

those are when we need clutch plays

on the other hand, horry played very shitty in game 4

If Horry guards Wells, then that would probably mean Bowen on Thomas?

God if only we had kept LJIII

This series, this exact series, would be the breakout party for LJIII...he would dominate bonzi
god dammit the spurs better fucking win tonight or i will kill someone's puppy

Yeah, big adjustment........I don't like it. Looks too much like desperation to me.

While I think Horry needs more than 15 minutes that he's been getting, I don't see him being of any help in the rebound department, and I think defensively this is also a step down.

Maybe it will make things easier offensively for guys like Manu and Parker, opening up the lane, as Horry and his defender will be more perimeter oriented.

I don't know. I hope this works.....but I'm skeptical.

I would rather have seen Rasho start, and still give more minutes to Horry.

Except on a team like the 2006 Western Conference all star team.

back off Bonzi, play him loose, invite him to shoot jumpers, same with Ron A.

I would not call it a desperation move....horry wont come out nailin threes left and right if thats what you think he's being substitued for.
And defensively, if he's guarding bonzi, it will be a decent play. But that leaves kenny thomas guarded by a guard :wtf

Don't get me wrong, i'm skeptical too

I hope it works out, but it wreaks of desperation, and shows Pop doens't know how to figure out the x's and o's so is relying on a roster tweak to solve an x's and o's problem :/

I wonder how many times this has been said and how many of us have been labeled POP haters for saying it since Bob Hill left.

Yeah, because all those guards on Bonzi worked wonders during the two games @ Arco.

Half-time Kings 46-Spurs 43.
Horry has been so-so in the first 24 minutes.

Another weak offensive support by Finley (0 pts. in 14 min.), Barry (2 pts. in 11:44 min.) and Van Exel (2 pts. in 6:38 min.) off the bench.

Wells killing the Spurs. 8 TOs giving the Kings 7 more shot attempts.

Kings 5-10 on 3s
Spurs 1-7 on 3s

Awful 2nd quarter.

Why are the Spurs so weak mentally and physically? There is no excuse for this collapse should they lose this game.

Aggie Hoopsfan
05-02-2006, 09:52 PM
Fuck Fin, Barry, and NVE. Give their shots to Duncan.

The Spurs are shooting 60% inside the arc, 83% FTs, and 10% threes. So why the fuck are they continuing to shoot threes? :pctoss

Horry starting is useless unless you are sticking him on Bonzi.

Horry 25MPG coming off the bench, getting some minutes against the 2nd stringers and playing the final 5 minutes of the 4th is where he is useful.

What's it matter when the entire offense and defense is playing like it is useless?

This team looks like it did back when Phil Jackson owned Pop, and everyone on the team knew Pop didn't know what adjustments to make to change the flow of the game. Sad.

Interesting. I give props to timvp for making this call, but it didn't really seem to matter too much to me. Even when we did have Horry on Wells, it wasn't so successful.

Once again Pop went mostly small ball- in the last quarter and a half, if I remember right, he used 1 of 2 bigs: Tim or Rasho and 4 of the following 6 players: Tony, Manu, Bruce, Brent, Finley, or NVE. Horry never played in the fourth quarter at all.

I find it ironic that a week and a half ago people insisted- even after knowing the match-up- that Rasho and Brent would hardly see the court. On the contrary, Pop has used them both in crunch time. Tonight Rasho never got much of a chance because of two quick BS fouls on two blocks of Bonzi's shots, but he played key minutes early in the fourth quarter. And Brent, he has become the emotional leader of this team.
