Does someone really have to post Bonzi Wells statline to counter this?

Jax was always an erratic offensive player. Even during the 2003 playoffs. But he did seem to have a penchant for hitting the big shots in the crucial games. Having a bad playoffs doesn't really say much or add any insight to Jax -- he had similiar statlines in a good chunk of playoff games in 2003. Sometimes players can be inconsistent and still hit timely shots on a reasonably consistent basis -- for example, even a guy like Vernon Maxwell was wildly erratic, but was known as a clutch player for hitting timely shots in the playoffs.....

Jax deserves credit for wanting to take the big shots in the crucial games. He deserves credit for hitting them. Doesn't mean he is incapable of having bad playoff series. He is also in a different situation, with different teamattes, and less opportunities to take 'clutch shots' in 'close' games -- simply because his team is weaker and wasn't good enough to have several game opportunities in the playoffs.

jackson is younger then barry
and pacers have to do something this offseason
I wanted barry over jackson mostly because barry could play backup point
pacers need a backup point and ship tinsley out

The truth is that Jackson a long three. The Spurs need a long three. Is Jackson the man? Maybe. He had a bad first round playoff series in '06. So? So did a lot of players. If the Spurs can acquire Jackson and still be under the cap. Go for it. If not, move on.

So your immediate goal would be to cut/trade Bowen and bring back Jax to play in his spot?

I simply think Jax is better as a backup than a starter and not worth near what he wanted from the Spurs--and ultimately received from less well-mangaged teams.

Let's just be happy for the contributions he made while a Spur and let it go.

No one is saying to cut Bowen and start Jackson in his place. Its just a fact that Bowen won't play much longer because of age. They need someone to step in for Bowen.

SJax is a at best a mediocre rebounder, defender, playmaker, ball hander, and shooter.

Hit some big 3s and Spurs fans suck ya forever.

Wait a minute. You started the thread, but we should let it go?

I liked Jackson when he was cutting to the basket, shooting 3s and defending, but I think in Indiana he has the ball in his hands, trying to create too much. I wouldn't mind having the old Jax back, but even if the Spurs reacquired him I'm not sure he'd be willing to give up his new habits.

Stephen Jackson gets no respect. Didn't he help win NBA title? He helps teammates and is a great human.

i thought he did really well given that they manage to force the gonads to 6 games, he appeared for every game, but no help from JO (even though he exploded in sum games) and no peja. straight trade rasho+barry for jacko.

i make love to pressure :D:D
