Just heard it on Ksat. From the hit he took in game 5, he wants to play, but he might be hampered by his injury. What are our chances of taking the game if Tony doesn't play?

I just heard a tape of Tony talking at shootaround today -- he didn't say he wasn't going to play.

Interesting.

yea :depressed

He says he's 50-50 gametime decision. I think he's gonna play cause it's the playoffs, but that thigh is seriously gonna take away what his game brings.

If T don't play, then it's time for VanX to earn his bucks. The problem I see with that though, is the D on Bibby may suffer some.

Yeah he got hurt in the 1st quarter of the game 5. He was limping a lot by the 4th quarter and could barely walk the next day.

For some reason I don't like the idea of NVE playing hardcore minutes against the Kings.

He takes pullup threes with 20 left on the clock against teams that slow it down, if he does that shit against the Kings, might we be fucked and without any offensive rhythm?

Either way if Tony's struggling and Van Exel doesn't put up one hell of a game we'll see Barry log some minutes at the point.

TP played with the flu and dropped 27 on Seattle down the stretch. I bet that did wonders for his concentration during the game. He will play thru the injury and rise to the occasion like any great player would.

A bad bruise can weaken the muscle where it can quit on you at the worst time, maybe causing a knee injury.

Remember last playoffs, Shaq had a thigh bruise so bad that they were worried it going to calcify.

Well, I don't either really. But I still have some reservations about Beno also. I guess the other option would be to run Barry at point with VanX resting him.

Or maybe put Manu running the point and put Barry in Manu's place.

At least Pop does have several options. The beauty of having a deep bench.

I think Tony will give it a try though....This is the playoffs.

Let Manu log more minutes at point guard with Finley and Bowen on the wings.

That means Beno and VanX need to pick up around 28 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists! No sweat! Especialy with hot Manu and healthy Tim by their side.

Both are good 3pt shooters none the less. Game 6 will be the last game of the series with or without Tony. I invested a lot o v-effort to this game, its almost 3 AM and... really, I don't like to wait for a game.

Parker will play. Barry can always play the point as well.

Brent Barry point guard.

05-05-2006, 08:22 PM
The Spurs have an abundance of talent who can play the point. If Tony's minutes are limited by his injury, Nick, Beno, Brent, and Manu are all available for duty. I personally like the style of Spurs play when Barry, Manu, Finley, Horry are on the floor, along with Duncan or another big.

van exel is going to have to be straight up TOLD not to pull that shit if he gets heavy minutes. I bet Beno will play just as much as van X tonight
