Bags homers in 1st, Chavez homers in 3rd.

I guess Bagwell's playoff hitting slump is officially over. :elephant

Oswalt is walked on 4 pitches in a bunt situation with Chavez on 1st...now we have runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs in the 5th and the top of the order up.

7th inning...still 2-0. Hampton is out. He pitched a great game, only allowing 4 hits, even though 2 were HRs.

Everywhere you look, you see great pitchers in the playoffs who used play for Houston..... Santana, Hampton......

14 hits for the Braves compared to just 4 by the Astros. Something had to give and it did. Now the Braves can go to Minute Maid Park and take one game there, and win it back in Turner!

Braves WIN! Woohoo! So, I'm not the only Braves fan here? Wow.

Oh well, it was a must win for the Braves. Furcal proved to be clutch. Looking forward to the two games in Houston. I hope to see a fifth back in Atlanta, and I'll have tickets for a Game 5 should there be one. :)

Fucker should be in prison.

Im not an astros fan but I agree, he should be in prison.

Another example of the athlete gets white glove treatment.

Garner did the fatal mistake alot of managers do in the playoffs.

Manage different than the regular season.

It has killed La Russa.

Its gonna kill Gadenhire, and its gonna hurt Ganer if he doesnt change.

Buck Martinez had a geat point ealy this moning on Mike and Mike.

Why change what got you there???

that fucker should be in prison.

fucking miceli cant throw anything near the plate though 0-2.

that was bad location...while being a pitcher's pitch..it was still too close.

waste a damn pitch 0-2.

he will be serving 21 days in prison in the offseason .. just letting everyone know.

and athletes do get special treatment, so i guess i'm just used to this by now. i mean, look at jamal lewis ..

game 3 should be good. win or lose, i hope it's another close one.

Houston up 2-0 bottom of the 3rd.

Could be a Houston St Louis NLCS.

That will easily go 7.

Nice game by the Astros. Very few mistakes made. Game 4 should be exciting, especially since both pitchers are known for either having incredible or terrible outings.

Astros could close this one out at home. :(

Jimcs50
10-09-2004, 08:12 PM
The Rocket has had very few "terrible outtings"...check out his ERA. The 3 days rest concerns me though. I think I would save him for a possible game 5 if I were the manager.

dcole50
10-09-2004, 09:38 PM
I was referring to such short outings like the one he had in the World Series last year. Nothing but respect for the guy, I'm not criticizing him.

I'd also save him for a possible Game 5 if I were the manager. He's incredible, but he's also an older pitcher. Going on such short rest could be dangerous.

Heh. I like Furcal, but I do agree that it's unfair the way they worked out his prison sentence. Atleast someone on a team I support got a break with the law. It seems like it always happens to the players I hate on other teams ..

Anyway, about an hour and a half until the game. I'm so freakin nervous. I want this series to go back to Atlanta for Game 5. I want to see an MLB playoff game so badly. :(

dcole50
10-10-2004, 01:50 PM
*sigh*

Braves keep stranding men on base. Looks like we'll be seeing an Astros/Cardinals series unless things turn around here in a hurry.

Best of luck, guys.

Edit: Well, looks like I will get to see Game 5 afterall. Should be fun. This has been the most interesting series by far in the playoffs thus far.
