Early in the second quarter, Dallas was on the right end of a series of questionable calls and non-calls by the officials. The Mavericks benefited more by how much it annoyed the Spurs and their fans.

San Antonio guard Nick Van Exel got two technical fouls in a short span, leading to his ejection with 7:30 left in the second quarter. Dallas already was up by eight; the ensuing free throw started the spurt that sent the Mavericks into halftime leading 58-38.

The officials were booed loudly as they walked to the locker room -- and even more loudly when they came back out.

In the second half the entire arena chanted Javie sucks super loud. They did this twice.

It was awesome!

The Spurs lost the game, not the officials. The Spurs didn't seem inclined to play much defense and the Mavericks took advantage of that.

Dick Bavetta, Sal Benatore, and Steve Javie need to retire or go ref the local YMCA. They could use Violet Palmer clones to replace them for all I care.

True. The Spurs could have playe better for sure, but the officiating definitely
sucked.
I've never heard a louder crowd from the at&t center on tv.

Way to go spurs fans!

I'm proud of the crowds reaction, the Spurs were getting the short end of a lot of calls and they let them know about it.

Why bother? In that situation it's the only thing that anybody can do - I'm happy the crowd did it, it's a poor consolation but it's the only one we the fans have.

I meant why bother playing defense if any contact would result in a foul call?

Yeah, when even the TNT announcers are commenting on foul calls and no calls seemingly going unfairly against the Spurs, the refs deserved to be told they suck...

Not that it made much of a difference anyway. Unagressive Manu + Tony Parker moving in slow-motion (for him) + even Barry bricking shots = loss.
