Did you guys catch this (http://www.nba.com/transactions/movement2004_index.html) ? ANthony Carter has signed with the Timberwolves. I thought he was injured and unable to play - if he's healthy, I'm bummed that we didn't re-sign him. I was really excited about him when he was signed up to be our back up PG last year.

Is Minnesota just delusional, or is he really healthy?

Anyone who is disappointed that we didn't re-acquire AC after last year's debacle at backup PG doesn't know jack about basketball. He was beyond bad.

I'm glad about three things:

He appears to be healthy
He found a team
It wasn't the Spurs

Sorry Supergirl but he wasn't worth it. I think I'd rather have an unproven Beno.

Heal > Carter

I'd be a better backup guard for the Spurs than AC.

And that's not a joke.

Funny, most of you thought Anthony Carter was a steal. IMO, most of you are homers and blinded by the black and silver.

Carter is not only a terrible basketball player, he doesn't know how to tell time or know what day of the month it is. He also doesn't know the difference between 3 million and 0 million.

In all fairness to AC, THAT is how an agent earns his pay, or in Carter's case, pays it back to the player.

he played a total of what, 2 games?

No wait.

1 game and a half.

Yup, thats enough to judge a player.

Glad to see the basketball experts from Sequ to the euro Shane Heal lovers have chimed in with there intelligence.

Whats funny, sequ cant tell the difference between a basketball and a football, but hes on here saying, "This guys sucks, this guys weak"

Its funny stuff. Must be the napolean syndrome.

Anthony Carter played only a few games for the Spurs and was injured. You can't really judge him from that. (Though you can certainly judge him for seasons prior.)

But I was certainly surprised that Minny picked him up -- I thought his knee was finished. He's fighting in Minny training camp fror the 3rd PG spot, along with Anthony Goldwire and Blake Stepp. They'll probably keep Stepp.

if you judge him from seasons prior, than he was a serviceable point guard.

Not a shooter no, but from what was available at the time? probobly ok.

Although Rafer Alston wouldve been a better option, but once again, it wouldve been 1 year and gone ala Speedy Claxton.

It doesn't mean much at this point, there trying out for a spot on the roster. But the difference is that this is for the third string PG, not a backup. I guess on one hand you want an established vet, someone that won't screw up but on the other hand when you have cassell, at his age, and troy's injury history maybe you want a young guy that you know is going to be healthy.

It is for third string, but that's pretty important for the Wolves, since their others are so injury prone -- kind of a strange pick for just that reason. But John Crotty got a couple of jobs with tendinitis too....

His line from today's scrimmage:

Anthony Carter 8-11 fg 0-0 ft 16 pts (7 assists, 3 steals)

Not bad.

But he was a preseason monster for the Spurs too. It's when the other team stops guarding him that kills his effectiveness.

I'd see if he can stay healthy before making any calls. Jackie Butler had a pretty good game too. He's lucky McHale is such a fan -- he's almost a lock to get a roster spot.

I love it when youve been shut up.

Anthony Carter and Olowikandi on the same team? I think I am going to be ill.

I actually feel sorry for Garnett. Whatever gains were made with the additions of Cassell and Spreewell have been canceled out by the incredible suck factor of AC and Olo.

Please give Anthony Carter time on the court when you play against us, we promise to leave him open.
