why do they hype up players for shitty teams?
because they are more exciting to watch then the great players on good teamns. like tim dunmcan for example. he is one of the most boring players of all time. who the hell would wanna have him in a commercial?

Two quick points.

1) Are you kidding! Robinson and Duncan made the best ever commercial. Robinson: "No, Timmy!! The gnome is out of bounds..." That commercial still cracks me up ten years later.

2) Good players on bad teams playing for individual stats and accolades develop some pretty insane moves; I have to agree with that. Dominique is the classic example in my own memory. Dr. J was playing on good teams by the time I remember seeing him. I can remember the early Pacers ABA teams and I knew who Erving was, but he got less ink before he came to Philadelphia.

its exciting to watch a highlight reel of them maybe

its not exciting to watch their teams get blown out over and over again

why do they hype up players for shitty teams?

Because the hype is for non-basketball fans. People who, as far as they are concerned, only Kobe Lebron, Michael, Grant Hill, and Shaquille O'Neal have been good the last 15 years of this league. The NBA wants a new ambassador. It gets the purists all lathered up for a playoff series.

It's a pain in the ass, but the league is just trying to make money.
