October 7, 2004 (SALT LAKE CITY) — It's a flush that ended in a flash and a bang.
Officials in Salt Lake City report an apartment tenant wanted to get rid of some gasoline that had been leaking from her car. So, she caught the gas and dumped it in the toilet. Big mistake.
Gasoline fumes were ignited by the pilot light of a water heater. The resulting blast destroyed the commode and sparked a fire causing 75-thousand dollars in damages.
But all four people inside the building at the time managed to escape without getting hurt.
