Poll: 2004 Election Was Stolen; according to viewers of all news networks except Fox News
by Rob Kall

In the first poll of its kind, OpEdNews.com, in the second OpEdNews/Zogby People's poll has learned that except for viewers of right wing news show, Fox News, poll respondents believe that the 2004 presidential election was stolen.

......................

But let's look at the demographics on this question. Of the people who watch Fox news as their primary source of TV news, one half of one percent believe it was stolen and 99% believe it was legitimate. Among people who watched ANY other news source but FOX, more felt the election was stolen than legitimate. The numbers varied dramatically:

Here are the stats by network listed as first choice by respondent and whether the respondent thought the election was stolen or legitimate.

Network Stolen Legitimate
ABC 56% 32%
CBS 64% 31%
CNN 70% 24%
FOX .5% 99%
MSNBC 65% 24%
NBC 49% 43%
Other 56% 28%

More NSA secrets to come...

Congressional Quarterly's Jeff Stein reports:

Russ Tice, an NSA intelligence analyst fired last January in the wake of revelations about the agency's warrantless eavesdropping program, is finally getting his chance to tell what he says are even more explosive secrets to Congress.

<snip>

The Senate Armed Services Committee asked him to come testify, he told CQ. The date will be sometime next week, according to Tice.

I suspect that this had better be some revelation over the abuse of a specific American's rights or the American public is going to go all Al Gore on you and tell you people to go fuck yourselves and let the NSA get back to spying on terrorists.

"John Gibson urged viewers to "[d]o your duty. Make more babies," because he had found out, from a recently released report, that nearly half of all children under the age of five in the United States are minorities. Gibson added: "You know what that means? Twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic." Gibson later repeated: "To put it bluntly, we need more babies."

Newt takes the high road, (no seriously, did anyone see him? was he high?)

Newt on the Phone Scandal: "I'm not going to defend the indefensible"

C
OLMES: Then he said when it came out a little while ago that there was some wiretapping he said it only applies to international communications. And now we're finding something else. So it just seems we’re not getting a consistent story here, are we?

GINGRICH: No. You're not.

COLMES: Why not?

GINGRICH: Look, I'm not-Alan, I’m not going to defend the indefensible. The Bush administration has an obligation to level with the American people. And I'm prepared to defend a very aggressive anti-terrorist campaign, and I'm prepared to defend the idea that the government ought to know who’s making the calls, as long as that information is only used against terrorists, and as long as the Congress knows that it’s underway.

But I don’t think the way they've handled this can be defended by reasonable people. It is sloppy. It is contradictory, and frankly for normal Americans, it makes no sense to listen to these three totally different explanations.

I think the predominant race doesn't really matter, but it will be a mix.

You never answer questions very well. But it seems to bother you that someone would question or make a statement about the predominate race in the future.

Meanwhile, Crazy Mel turns on Dubya...

Film star and director Mel Gibson has launched a scathing attack on President George W. Bush, comparing his leadership to the barbaric rulers of the Mayan civilization in his new film Apocalypto.

The epic, due for release later this year, captures the decline of the Maya kingdom and the slaughter of thousands of inhabitants as human sacrifices in a bid to save the nation from collapsing.

Gibson reveals he used present-day American politics as an inspiration, claiming the government callously plays on the nation's insecurities to maintain power.

He tells British film magazine Hotdog, "The fear-mongering we depict in the film reminds me of President Bush and his guys."
