I don't think Pop's going anywhere. As long as Tim's a Spurs, Pop's a coach.

Pop's going to stay here as long as he wants. He's said it a couple of times that he'll retire as soon as Duncan does. So he's for a few more seasons.

He's the best coach this team can have and Pop along with RC have made this franchise what it is.

Oh, Gee!!

Fire him now, get AJ.

Fire him now and get Don Nelson so Aggie can be happy.

Our offense will improve!!!

Pop has said that he's not going to stand in PJ's way if a head coaching job arrives. Nor should he. PJ wants to coach again and I'm sure he will.

i love pop but I wouldnt mind seeing a different head coach in come 08. Pop has been with the spurs forever and it might be time for a change soon.

As long at Tim is playing and wants Pop.. Pop will be coach..

I'll even go so far as to say they will retire the same year.

if the spurs play 10 more total playoffs minutes with that twathouse small lineup, you might as well get ahfs more conservative brother to coach the spurs

Keep him forever, small ball fueled our three title runs and will get us countless more, despite getting out-rebounded by 20 every night.

:rolleyes

I'd rather have Bobby Knight as Spurs head coach, or at the very least Pop's right-hand man.

Why? Because his team spanked us last time around? Get over it already. AJ is an excellent coach.

I think Pop deserves more respect because he has delivered 3 rings..

A lot of ya'll never even stopped to smell the roses last time.. the next day your like looking to next season instead of living in the moment of victory..

Keep him as long as he wants to coach this team.

He's proven he can win with just TP/Manu and a serviceable big man. I think he could build a team around that. He's not a great coach, but a great manager which is what you need these days. Sign him to a lifetime contract, I say.

It's a bad idea to replace Pop right now unless the Spurs can guarantee that he's going to succeed. If Pop leaves coaching, I don't think he'd leave the Spurs. That sets up a situation like the one in Miami between Stan Van Gundy and Pat Riley, with less egos I would assume. The first six-game losing streak, and the media would create its own rumors. That's a bad situation for any replacement to be in - to look over their shoulder.
