Jealousy brings out the worst in people. The talk radio in Dallas is depressing. I used to watch the post game show for the Cowboys on Texas cable news and they were the guys from the Ticket in Dallas. Man those guys are fucken depressing. They would rip their own team after a win or loss. They even made fun of Emmitt during his ceremony after he broke the rushing record. They would wear jerseys of the Cowboys opponent that day on the air. So don't be suprised by what you hear about those idots in Dallas. The fact that they are making fun of San Antonio is suprising. If San Antonio is so bad why do I always meet people from there on the Riverwalk? And at Fiesta? A group of people I was talking to from the Highland Park area actually told me that they wished Dallas were more like San Antonio. But what do you expect. Dallas has no traditional events like Fiesta. And they certainly don't rally around their sports teams like Spurs fans do. They just don't have any real culture in that city. So for them to be making fun of San Antonio is funny. Pathetic actually. When it all comes down to it Dallas may have alot more then San Antonio . But they don't have rings !!!!!

A lot of people are in Dallas because business forces them there.
Most people in SA are here because they want to be.
....and yeah, Dallas has some things, but San Antonio's got things too, plus
We got rings.
Dallas wants them so bad.....and they ain't got nothing yet!

Spurs take this series.

for giving us the most annoying people on the planet. Mark "I don't wear makeup" Cuban . I swear the dude is a cross dresser. And Jessica "my brains are in my breasts" Simpson. Way to make Texas proud. :rolleyes What about Kelly Clarkson and her annoying ass.

People who live in Dallas need to stop thinking that Dallas is New York and Chicago. Be proud of what you are. A shit kicking town with no loyalties to anything. Not even your own teams. As a matter of fact I used to watch the post game show for the Cowboys on Texas cable news and they were the guys from the Ticket in Dallas. Man those guys are fucken depressing. They would rip their own team after a win or loss. They even made fun of Emmitt during his ceremony after he broke the rushing record. I hope the Clippers beat the Suns. I think a Clippers-Spurs series would be very entertaining. Brand is a beast. Cassell is a handfull. Like I said before Cassell is happy to be out of that damn freezer called Minneapolis and is loving that California life just fine. Good Luck to the Clippers!

So bitter... The Ticket is the greatest sports radio station in the world. They are completely loyal to our local teams, but they still find humor in them. They say it like it is. If the Cowboys are playing like crap and going 5-11, what are they suppose to say? They're supporting them, but telling the truth at the same time.

Laugh at and with your Spurs every now and then... that way when they get bounced, you won't go into depression. :p

Yes yes, we get all the blame for tanking. Why is it that Pau Gasol's only missed game was against us? Why was everyone else in the league resting their players? hmmm....maybe getting ready for the playoffs? You can't really avoid anyone in the playoffs, so it doesn't really matter. If you are one of the best teams, you will end up playing each other anyways. Dallas and San Antonio would have probably met up in the 2nd round, or the WCF, so what's the big deal? Trust me, I'm not gonna be stupid and say, "oh the clippers went farther then Dallas so we're obviously better." The only thing sadder then the Clippers tanking is Dallas's record in big games in the playoffs.

Sorry it's just funny that a Clippers fan comes on a Spurs Forum and starts talking about their "future", while they are still playing the Suns. I mean I would expect him to be on a Suns forum, but a Spurs forum? Seems like the Dallas Mavs lost to the Spurs and Clippers won over Suns, and WCF between Clips and Spurs was about to start...Please don't talk about your future. Tanking is just :hang , and like you said, it doesn't matter, because you will still face them later on....stick with it.

As to answer your rhetorical questions (not), everyone was resting their players because they had already been set on a seed. Pau missed that one game against you, yet you still lost? Don't use them to try and get anything from them tanking....

umm, excuse me. you dont' have to butt into a conversation i'm having with another spurs fan. we never said our teams guarenteed to go on to teh WCF. We just talked about how it would be an interesting matchup, and one that i would like to see. If i had to pick, i'd still pick the suns actually, but that won't stop me from thinking about possible next round matchups. When i talk about the clippers "future", i'm talking about the years to come. Brand, Kaman, Maggette, mobley, livingston, radmonovich, q ross....etc... You gotta chill out man. I'm just happy to be in the playoffs this year so i don't care that much of what a mavs fan thinks about my team.

Dude, i honestly don't care. weather we got knocked out in the first round or the 2nd, or the WCF, as a clipper fan, you probably don't understand how good it is just to be in the playoffs. Personally, i'm probably ignorant for thinking we didn't tank. But if we did, it's just sweeter for me cuz i've gotten to go to more playoff games. Man, i dunno what i did to get all the mavs fans attacking me. Maybe i should retract my, "i hope you guys cream the Mavs" comment and say, "I hope you guys play hard against the mavs." :)

That's a Mavs fan for you MikeShafer. Dallas area fans have no respect for themselves or their teams. Here is an example of what I am talking about. It is a link to a high school football site and they are discussing what to do with the Stadium after the Cowboys move into their new home. The people from Dallas are saying to burn it down. If you can't respect the past, how can you respect the future. No loyalty.

I am from Dallas and this is my first post. I find it odd that ppl have to bash cities in rivalries. I know ppl from San Antonio and I personally like it. I dont have a problem with the city - I think the Riverwalk is beautiful and the drinks there are great, the club scene is cool so I take nothing away from San Antonio...

With that said - I love Dallas. I dont think it is NY or any other big city - I enjoy it for what it is. It is a decent city. Is it as grand as some ppl make it out to be, no. But its far from boring... Dallas has its own great club scene, has its own great restuarants, we dont have a Riverwalk or anything like it (And I pray that Laura Miller is not tryna make the Trinity River Project anything like it... God forbid they try to do that to such a pitiful excuse for a River) but I dont think that justifies downtalking either city.

True there are Dallas residents who cant stand San Antonio, I am not one of them. I got nothing against San Antonio or any other city in Texas, but my home is Dallas. With that said - I wont be trolling. I just wanted to comment bc I dont want it to come across like all Dallas residents are that way... because all of us arent.

I have nothing against Dallas. There are a lot of beatiful women there who have the best body parts money can buy (just kidding).

The city is cool, the teams are cool, the fans are cool. I just can't stand the owner's -- Jerry Jones and Mark Cuban.

You will not believe the talk up here in regards to the spurs. They constantly take shots at our town, people, riverwalk and yes you guest it ..our slogan "go spurs go". Believe it or not, there is even talk of a championship parade as well as the celebs that will speak at the rally. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!

What they failed to realize is that the SPURS are the champions, that POP (PJ) can counter anything, that this series is along ways from being over....

SPURS will win the next 3 games........ :fro
I listen to the ticket and espn radio, I never hear any of them talk like that. You are a dumbass

Yeah. While the radio stations around here do say retarted stuff sometimes, I have never heard them remotely insult San Antonio and the people of San Antonio.

As for the talk of a championship, the city is excited because the mavs actually have a shot this year.. who cares what they talk about you dont have to listen.

This thread has just turned into really cheap city-bashing. who cares.

I was born and raised in San Atonio and have been a Spurs fan my entire life. Having lived in Dallas for five years and listened to The Ticket for five years, it's obvious that EVERY sports radio station is copying their format. The Ticket has influenced sports talk radio tremendously. You guys can knock Dallas all you want, but the Ticket is greatness.

A Spurs fan that knows genius when he hears it, regardless of the city it's in...

I think I give sports radio about 0 consideration when thinking about the attractiveness of a city.

Wow, I really don't like the Ticket. Maybe I just haven't listened to it enough.

I just listen to ESPN radio, mainly Galloway & Co.

I think it's dumb how the sports rivalry turns into city bashing.

Galloway is alright...I used to listen to him. And before that, Chuck and Newy on the "Big Show"...etc etc.

But I started listening to The Ticket a couple years ago and now I listen from 6:45 am to 6:45 pm.

You either "get" The Ticket or you don't...it's not for everyone...

You don't get out much, do you?

Leave for work at 6:45.
Have it on in the office all day.
Get home from work at 6:45.

If that means I don't get out much, then I guess you're right...
