I ca'nt take this shit anymore, the Mavs own the SPurs. Plain and simple.

If Dirk didn't go cold in the 4th quarter of game 1, by tonight the Spurs would be down 0-3.
If the Spurs didnt get cold in....

I'm hoping we can get it under 10 by the half. Then we'll see what happens.

I hope so, but we need some different things to start to take place.

First, Tony and Manu have got to get into the paint and either score or set up a shooter for an open shot. They have got to become more efficient on offense and they can't keep giving up all these second chance points. They must defensive rebound better.

Otherwise, if the same stuff keeps happening, the longer the game goes, the more dallas will win by.

Dallas isnt far more talented. They arent any more talented. They are just playing better. The Spurs problem is not that they are out gunned, it's that they just are not playing hard and are making bad decisions. They stepped it up at the end of the half and went on a run. They just have to bring 24 more to finish this game with a win.

That 8-0 run may have been a lifesaver.

Now it would be nice to see the defensive intensity pick up.

Keys for the second half:
3. Keep the Mavs off the offensive boards.
2. Stop Harris' penetration.

The game hasn't been THAT lopsided. We missed too many FTs, and Terry has hit some really difficult shots. We haven't really hit too many of our tough shots yet. If Terry and Stack keep taking the same quality of shots they're getting, we'll be okay.

I think that we will know if this will be a close ball game down the stretch by the first five minutes or so of the third quarter.

Will the Spurs continue the positive mojo and momentum that they had at the end of the half or will they continue to stink it up?

The Mavs are shooting better (50% vs. 41%) AND getting offensive rebounds (7 out of 18 misses) AND getting more FTs (23 to 16).

That should be an unbeatable combination.

But that's what I'm saying, the reason they're shooting 50% is because they're making some very difficult shots. Outside of Harris' layups and the 2nd chance layups they get off the offensive rebounds, we're not giving them easy shots.

Telling sign that this ain't the Mavs of seasons past: They're up five and haven't hit a three yet - I think they've only shot two - and the German has nine boards.

And yes Hubie, we know that Dirk hits 90% from the line.

Still, I think that if SA holds Dallas under 20 points in the 3rd, this game is theirs. Getting Terry and Howard into further foul trouble and forcing AJ to play Daniels more would help quite a bit.
