View Full Version : Random Thoughts On Game 3

- The refs didn't win the game, the Mavs did. They executed when they could never execute in the past. Pops.

- Tim Duncan is the MVP. Theres not really more to say about him. He's the best powerforward ever to play the game and there is no way in hell the Mavs even contain him at any point in this series.

- Defensive rebounding is still key. Anyone suprised the game winning points came on an offensive rebound?

- Please oh god let Playoff Manu come back and play for game 4. He was taking it hard all night and I loved it. Fuck passing the ball off those plays Manu, take that shit strong. They can't stop him when he plays like that. No one can.

- Nazr deserves to be on the inactive list. He played such a small amount of minutes (or was it just a minute) but he hurt the Spurs so much when he was in. Free Nazr? How about we chain Nazr to a chair in street clothes that way the only thing he has to catch is a fucking pag of peanuts.

- Bowen is incredible. Too bad he can only guard one player at at time.

- Devin Harris is a damn good player. But for the love of god, MAKE HIM SHOOT. I'm tired of seeing this guy get to the lane. He put some sick moves on players, but give him all the space in the world. He makes AJ's jumper look golden.

- Paging Mr. Horry? I don't know what its going to take for Pop to realize that he's not doing anything to warrant a start. I don't understand what the point is. Rasho won't hurt you if you start him. He may not do all that much, but at the least you save Horry for bench minutes and you don't force him to play a role he's never succeed in . Pop, for the love of god start Rasho if for no other reason than to get Horry into a better spot.

- I'm willing to put serious money on the line that the Spurs win game four. Mavs fans, this means you. Want to put your money where you mouth is? If not, STFU.

Good thread, much better than mine. I kinda disagree with the first part because you can't argue with the all the fouls called, but we lost because Dallas outscored us. Let's hope our rebounding improves.

Horry needs to be benched, or at least step it up.

Free the Kiwi! Hell, if Fabri can make something happen, I'll bet Marks could score 20 in Game 4. Go Crackers!

I'll agree, mostly. But I'll also be realistic enough to say that Dirk scoring 22 of 27 of his points (or some shit like that) at the free throw line played a large part in a Spurs loss.

Actually, I dont think that would be such a bad idea, if we're are not playing Rasho and Nazr. Plus he has a good jumper.

Yeah, but look, the bottom line is that you have to overcome that. Manu got a call in the late minutes too when Howard had a clean block. The fact is that the Spurs put themselves in a position where they had to play nearly perfect down the stretch in order to win this game. And they almost did play perfectly.

They need to come out with that type of play early in the game. It is so hard to play from behind and it takes so much. Don't put yourself in a position to have that happen.

I would start Oberto in game 4.

His rebounding was good, he was decent defensively, and hell, he actually looked good when he had the ball in the post, he put some nice moves, he just didn't finish.

Thats prob from not having the ball in the post all year.

Start Oberto start Barry again.

Spurs win game 4.

Thats a T Park guarantee.

There Should Be A Vbookie:

Will The Spurs Play From Behind The Entire Game During Game 4?

Or

Should The Spurs Play Small Ball As A Viable Offensive Strategy??

Yeah, Oberto was solid today. More mobile than Rasho and Nazr, less butter on his fingers, and 43.5% less pump fakes.

I'm extermely disappointed in our centers especially Nazr. The moment he go it in he fumbled a pass and then fouled Harris for the And1. DAMN. Nazr needs to be benched this series and depending on who we play next round we gotta get our lineups straight on who plays the big man postions.

Aggie Hoopsfan

Manny, fine, start Rasho.

We aren't winning this series with small ball. We've won zero championships with small ball.

We're still suffering on the court because of the Sacramento series, because Pop thinks Robert Horry starting and he and Bowen rotating at PF is the answer. It's a Pop damn joke.

i dont know what it is, but if I had the board's highest basketball IQ i would highly recommend we play small ball :tu

The small ball tonight was SUPER small. At some points Oberto was the biggest guy on the court. That's crazy.

Anyway, if Nazr's 1 min and 10 sec were any indicator, I don't think he's the answer.

Give Rasho a few minutes and see how it goes.

Who ever is playing Dirk on offense needs to punish him and test that ankle. It won't be 100%. It doesn't matter who it is. If it's Horry, he needs to drive on him. If it's Rasho, it's time he showed us some moves in there.

Melmart1

Rasho needs to start. You can always pull him out if he sucks. But I guarantee he won't cost the team like Nazr did in his brief stint. I would also go so far as to say we should put Marks on the active list in place of Nazr. Not cus I think Marks should get any playing time, but because my mind would be at ease knowing Nazr has zero chance of getting into the game.

Nazr hasn't been the same since he got benched after game 1 of the Sacramento series.

Sure you'd like to see him be a little bit tougher mentally but since Pop put him in the dog house after game 1 of Sacramento, dude hasn't been the same.

Yeah, but look, the bottom line is that you have to overcome that. Manu got a call in the late minutes too when Howard had a clean block. They need to come out with that type of play early in the game. It is so hard to play from behind and it takes so much. Don't put yourself in a position to have that happen.

That's true, at that point I thought the game was over, the refs blew that one, that might have been the cleanest block of the whole game and it cost us alot at that point. It gave Manu 2 points at the line, and it meant Howard had his 5th foul. This means that ultimately I knew he had to lay off on the defensive end which would explain his non agressive defense on Ginobli down the stretch.

Bottom line I can only guess that Crawford strictly adherred to book on that last foul on Duncan. If you are in the restricted zone and any contact is made it's a foul, stupid rule in my book, shoulda been a no call, but I think ultimately that's just the way the ball bounces.

As a Mavs fan I'm not blind to the fact that we did get the majority of calls in this game, this game was not completely won by the Mavs, they definitely had some homecooking help. Anyway here's to a good game 4 and lets hope the refs will be better in that game and I also hope that the Mavs will play much better than they did tonight.

GO Mavs!
