View Full Version : Time To Sack Up Spurs Fans

timvp

Spurs fans have lived an easy life. It's time to sack up. This is how Championships are won. It's not an easy road. You hit bumps along the way. There's a ghost whistle here or a no call there but it all evens out in the end.

Spurs are down 2-1. This series has just begun. This is the playoffs. Just because the Spurs have never trailed at this point during a Championship run, don't get spoiled. Teams like the Pistons and the Lakers have fought back from even bigger holes. It's the Spurs turn to show what they are made out of.

If the Spurs can't come back from a 2-1 deficit versus the pansy ass Mavericks, they weren't going to do anything against the Pistons. This is a great test. Spurs fans just need to sack up and realize that this is how the playoffs go sometimes.

Win Game 4 and the Spurs are back in control of the series. Late in the game, the Spurs were playing quite well. If it weren't for the Mavs getting to the line so much, Spurs easily pull away.

But no excuses. Spurs fans have lived a sheltered ass life. This is the smallest market in the league and we've seen some amazing luck throughout the years. Buying George Gervin, lucking out on David Robinsin, lucking out on Tim Duncan, having Sean Elliott defy gravity on the sidelines, having Rasheed leave Horry wide open and so on.

Now the Spurs have to show what they are made out of. True basketball with no help from anyone else. Backs to the wall. The season on the line. The Spurs have to stare adversity in the eye and not blink.

Do the Spurs have it?

Believe.

LJ and I were talking about this on the way home .. and he's right. If the Spurs can't muster up some nuts to take this series from the Mavs, then they were going to get buried by the Pistons in the Finals anyway. So it's time to sack up.

Down 2-1 is nothing when you consider the fact that you have Tim Duncan playing monster ball: 35 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks. All we need is for the rest of the team to catch up. Looked like Manu was regaining form in the third. Now all we need is Parker, Barry, NVE and Finley to step it up.

You can never discount the Spurs when you have Tim Duncan playing the way he has been.

I really don't understand your point.

I didn't say Manu never had a good game after that. I know he did play well, especially in game 5.

That doesn't change the fact that he was called out for poor performances in Game 4, Game 1 and 2 of the Mavs series by numerous people on this board. It also doesn't change the fact that he himself has said that the turnover was STILL bothering him.

If Manu was still letting that TO bother him come Mavs series, are you saying you don't think there's a reasonable chance that the TO tonight is going to bother him at some point down the road, possibly Monday?

I'm not saying it's a given. I'm saying it's shortsighted to expect him to go for 30.

He played horribly in game 4, and in the first couple games of the Mavs series.

The latter 2 may have been a bit farther than a week from SAC game 4. I didn't look up the dates. If that's the case, I apologize for saying a week+ as I should have extended the time period a bit.

The bottom line is, 3 out of the 5 games since game 3 SAC he has played poorly. And the one he probably played the most poorly in was game 4 SAC, which, correlated to this series, would mean it is reasonable to expect that he may have a poor game Monday.

Nazr needs to go on inactive list before he does any more harm. Get that klutzy motherfucker out of a Spurs uniform, and suit up Sean. Nazr is becoming a negative legend, and towering memorial to gawdawful uselessness, in his own time.

Rasho needs to help Tim with paint defense, and not hang around too close on offense, so Tim can operate, and be ready to take passes from Tim.

I said this in a thread straight after the game:

"Who's with me?

We lost today's game on a string of bad calls down the stretch, bad luck on a couple of plays and with no TD in at the end. It hurts, but we can beat these guys and we showed that we can do that, with a little bit of luck on our side.

What we do about Harris I don't know.

Anyway, Game 4 is all about a VERY MAD Tim Duncan, a Manu ready to atone for something he will blame himself for (but was not his fault), and a TP yet to show up in the series.

The season is on the line, and WE WILL WIN.

To steal timvp's immortal rallying cry, BELIEVE. I know I do."

I'd like to add that I'd prefer to have the 2003 Spurs playing Dallas (Speedy to help run after Harris, Jax to make Howard play - remember, Jax played the best he ever has for us - KWill to beef up the paint), but as has been said, if this group doesn't have the ticker, may as well find out now as later.

Now let's do this thing.

but you Mavs fuckers say the Spurs have won because of the refs in the past, but the Spurs can't lose because of the refs. can't have it both ways, assholes.

this place is stunk up with Mavs assholes showing up only after a win.

There have been Mavs fans here since the season started, And show me a post I ever made blaming the refs. I am shocked at your anger and your cursing, After all when game one was over ? you was dancing around this forum like some sort of gay lotto winner on prozax.

Does it really matter what the refs do? after all you was behind by 13 at one point and you lost game 2 by 20 something points. face the facts your not the 99 spurs anymore and move on already. Stop sounding like Mav fans for the last 5 years. You have become the very thing you used to hate about Maverick fans,

As far as sacking up? I'm sorry but that paper sack of yours busted a hole long time ago and your shit is all over the parking lot. You should have picked plastic :lmao

Or did they shoot their wad and throw everything they had at the Mavericks tonight?
They did shoot their wad and throw everything they have at the Mavs but there is much more white stuff for you! You should wait till you've won something to throw the smack around. If you win, you have every right to talk smack cause I would. I will wait till it's over myself.
