Most of u prolly know im a piston fan, but i still wonder. How would u take it if the spurs lost to the mavs? I couldnt even imagine the pistons losing in the second round, even if it was against a team like dallas. I think i would cry if my team lost in the second round. It really sucks how the nba seeds these teams. So how would u guys take an early exit in this years playoffs?

I'd be pissed off. But realistically Spurs fans shouldn't count on the Spurs winning a title every year, and let themselves flip out about it.

I'd be pissed off for a few days, watch the rest of the playoffs, and look forward to watching Spurs summer league and see how they alter their roster for next season.

^^Of course- be a little upset. Pissed.

Nothing outrageous.

be upset, but Id be over it and watch the Cardinals for a while, and then focus on the Draft, then the offseason and get excited about Sanikidze, Javtokas, and Scola, and the trade possibilities of Beno, Nesterovic, Mohammed and Barry.

The offseason is VERY fun! :)

Although, you have to admit - its a little bit more fun after you have won the title...

Depending on how long their fortunes held up, I'd start following the Clips a bit closer.
Only time you'll EVER see me supporting a Los Angeles basketball team, though.
And I'm SO much happier it's them going deeper into the playoffs that the Lamers!
BTW: who else thinks that Steve Nash and Chris Kaman go to the same hairstylist?!?

Probably go out and drink...until I forgot that they lost and thought I was celebrating a win...wake up the next day and do the same....or just go on with my life, while hating the spurs for making my summer just that much more boring. Then when October rolled around (heck, even July), it would be a thing of the past.

We have a deal with the in-laws the cheer for the Mavs, as they have cheered for the Spurs the last time the Spurs beat them.

I would renege and cheer for the Pistons.

Eh. I'd be a little pissed, but would be over it quickly. I used to live and die with every game in my younger days, but it doesn't affect me like that anymore. Ya win some, ya lose some. Can't win em all.

I'd avoid the forum for about 4 days...which not coincidentally is about the amount of time mouse needs to quit starting the 65652325156775668 shower rod threads that he's inclined to start after every single Spurs loss.

and start merging threads about who the Spurs should pick at #59 and how they will be the next Manu. :)

That is a better and interesting question. Remember. There is a guaransheed.

Consult ms cleo on the spurs question. You will get the best answer.

I'm already in daily preparation for next season, so there wouldn't be much time for me to be pissed or anything. I'll be disappointed, but I have a feeling that this summer will be fruitful and next season will start stronger.

I'd be pissed for a week or so....just knowing that we failed to repeat once again and that we might not get a chance to repeat for a long time. I might watch the playoffs, probably the Finals for sure. Move on to next season I guess....and hope they win again soon.

i think i would cry, no jk. Not bcuz we lost, but bcuz we lost to the cavs. If the spurs lose to the mavs that would be easier to take as a fan then pistons losing to the cavs.

I'd be pissed off for a few days and would see how the playoffs
finish out and get over it.
I'd be ready for next season and see what new players we bring in.
We've won before and lost before. We can take whatever happens.

Dallas hasn't won it yet though, contrary to what they seem to think.
We still have a great chance to win this series.

What do you think Dallas would do if they loose this series?
They'd probably have a harder landing then us.

i would be pissed because i dont like the mnavs. but then i would be happy because i dont have to see those low scoring boring games with the pistons and spurs in the finals.

Sympathize with most of the Spurs fans, and in some way feel bad that a rematch couldn't happen. But, also laugh a little inside at some of the obnoxious Spurs fans on this board I've come to love to hate ... at least hate as much as one can over the internet. And, that's only a handful of Spurs fans anyway.

Spurs are winning this series. Once they get a 3-2 lead i think everyones fears will start to die down.

Thats fucked up. :lol

I guess I would root for the Pistons since thats the only team out there thats fully deserving of winning the title.
I know how precious their belts are to them. :rolleyes

I've made no secret of the fact that I would like to play the Suns or the Mavs this year, so to me I guess the Spurs losing is okay. All I can say about current series playoffs is that Pistons better beat the Cavs! That would majorly mess me up for the summer if Pistons loose the current series! I think Flip has them ready to win it all, though.

I'd be upset for a day, then cheer for the Mavs to win the title and at least keep it in Texas. No way I could be THAT upset since it was clear the Spurs basically had the hardest bracket of the contenders, and how can you be upset losing to the 3rd best team in the league after having to fight in the first round because of bad matchups.

That said, I won't believe the Spurs are losing this series until the Mavs win 2 more games.

austinfan

First of all, I believe the Spurs will win Game 4. The Mavs are good, but not good enough to win three in a row off the Spurs. Plus, you could see our guys beginning to break down the Dallas defense in the fourth quarter of Game 3, so hopefully they've "grokked" the Mavs' game plan and will be able to capitalize on that in the next few games.

If they lose the series? I'll be disappointed, because I love watching Manu and Timmy play, but that doesn't take away from the fact that they had a pretty damn impressive season for having their top two players hurt for most of the year. And they'll come back hungrier for the title next year. So it's all good.
