I think it's great.
it has none of what made it great in the past. The story was always about Tony and how he worked his way up the latter through killing, stealing, lying, and cheating.

Now it's about two gay gangsters.

He's still working his way up. Now he has his sights on New York and is working towards a showdown with Phil and/or Johnny Sack.

I agree, it's gone to a more character-driven storyline than action-driven (it's really been that way since Season 3 or 4), but I've always felt the strength of the show is in its characters. And this year they're deeper than ever.

The Vito subplot probably isn't universally interesting to everyone, but I like it as a minor subplot. It just happens to be the major topic of conversation because it's so different than anything they've done.

Also, as I've said before, I really like what's going on with AJ this season.

i've been watching it.. I'm hooked.. the thing about hte Vito story line is - I'm not sure where it's going. IS he goiong back to the crew? to face Tony? Is he going to kill himself? Id he goign to turn rat?

there is def. goign to be a showdown between Tony & NY. that scares me since the show could end with him being on the losing side.
Also - Tomy seems to be sympathetic (to himself, not showing it to the guys) to Johnny Sac's situation ie. the crying at hte wedding and then pleading guilty and admitting to la Costra Nostra. I wonder if this is a progression in his character to then turn rat at the end of the show?

hmmm......
anyway.

it's not the best season ever, but it's still good.

Of course Tony is gonna die.. that's how the Mafia works.. either dead or in jail.

And another Soprano will step up to the plate to carry on the family tradition..

That's my guess on how it will end.

Johnny is done and it doesn't look like tony has any interest in taking Phil's piece of the pie.

The minor subplot is major because it takes up most of the show.

Anyways, I wanna see more drama and action rather than learning about Paulie's background and seeing how he deals with Cancer. Lame, it's like Terms of Enderment meets the Godfather.

worst season ever...by far
the only reaosn i keep watching it is bc i have faith...fiath it will stop showing the gay, literally, scenes. faith it will become more action packed. faith it will stop sucking over all. every week i get my hopes up bc of the "next weeks episode" trailer. and every week im disapointed come sunday night.
im tired of all the side plots. all hte analyzatoin of side characters. i dont give a shit about artie, or janice, or benny or any of those other fucks. focus on the main group, the ones who made it popular and leave it at that.
and lastly, enough political crap mixed into the shows.

I love you too, JohnnyCakes.

The one-liners are still phenomenal but it is definitely lacking the action of previous seasons...
