I like sending Barry to New Orleans for J.R. Smith, as the team tried to do back in Feb. They need some experience and we need young guys. Right now, we are way too old to keep up with Dallas.
Duncan, Parker, Manu, Bowen--keep them, pretty obvious. As if Duncan could ever leave. He IS the Spurs!!
Fin, Oberto, Nazr and his mitts, Beno--keep.
Horry, VanExel, Rasho, Barry--try and find a taker for them. There's always Isiah Thomas in N.Y. who would be more than happy to help us by taking on bloated contracts. (BTW, He is about 6 months away from acquiring Kenyon Martin. Martin, who is overrated, has a bad knee and a terrible attitude, and is owed about another $80M over 5 yrs, would fit in just fine. But I digress.) How about Rasho for ... Channing Frye?
We'll reload and win it all next year!

i agree except i'd try and trade beno again for a 1st round pick, we don't have one this season. also NVE is retiring so no need in trading him.

Everyone but Duncan, Manu, Parker, Bowen, and Finley should feel they might need to buy new luggage

We will semi rebuild for sure. Age and our weakness at youth and energy is showing like we knew it would.
Barry and Nazr will be gone. Exel too and a great possibility Horry is out.
I don't see Rasho moving for some reason, 90% of the time he's useful against most NBA teams we play.
Parker will only improve and Duncan will stay the same. Manu is a wildcard to me based on his on/off style of play. Never know when it's on or off.

I'd keep Tim, Manu, TP, Bruce, Fin, Beno, and Barry.
NVE, Nazr, and Horry have to go/retire.
I think Rasho is untradeable, and Oberto I don't really care either way.
We need some bigs and maybe an athetic, young defensive 3.

No maybe about it. They've needed it for a couple years.
Imagine if the Spurs had a young defensive 3 that could guard Howard while Bowen guarded Dirk in this series!

Love Gerald Wallace. The only player (besides D-Rob and Hakeem) to average 2 blocks and 2 steals in the same season. He'd probably cost too much though.

Dude was a deep bench dweller when SAC was making a push to the finals. He was cheap then. That was then this is now.

Kori How many years have left from Findog's contract 1or 2?
Oberto=He has'n got much trade value
Rasho= nearly untradeable, but I would take him back to Minny for Jaric.
How about that?
We desperately need some inside presence and even Nazr or Rasho would be a help for a MLE.

Finley signed for 3 years -- so 2 more.
Oberto makes 2.5M, that's why I said trade him in a package if necessary. Probably no one would want him on his own, but if you were putting together a package and you needed salary to come together -- he makes a bit.
I know Rasho is nearly untradeable, though his contract sucks, it's one year shorter now so they will probably keep trying.

First of all. Finley is not going to be traded. He signed for a lot less money here so Pop and RC aren't going to trade him after a pretty good season just because we need to get younger. Trading Barry however is a more likely since they almost traded him to New Orleans. Even though I really like Barry's game and his character.
The obvious goners are Van Exel (due to retirement) and Nazr (free agency).
Now I'm going to stop this off season talk and focus on GAME 5.

Get rid of VanExcel, he simply doesn't fit in the Spurs' chemistry. He is a premature shooter, that is transition offense material...San Antonio is not that. Get rid of him...his shooting is simply terrible.

Horry: he will retire. Otherwise, keep
Van Exel: retire (hopefully)
Scola: keep or trade for a long, athletic SF who can shoot the 3.
Javtokas: keep and bring him
Sanikidze: keep but don't bring him yet
Mahinmi: see above
Karaulov: see above (or trade his rights if there's anyone willing to do such a thing).

Hallo to everybody (that's my first post).
her's my idea : 1) trade rasho, udrih and mohammed to new orleans (i think they have some cap space) for j.r. , macjauskas, a first choice in the upcaming draft and a re-signed claxton; 2) sign jared jeffries (MLE ?), scola, javtokas and, in case, sinikidze.
I thin that, after all, is the best we can afford...but I'll never gonna underestimate R.c. and the othars of the crew (ex. mr.Presti)

Manu: keep
Finley: keep
Beno: keep
Horry: trade if he doesn't retire, keeping him isn't a bad option either
Bowen: i like him, but he is not getting any younger, so I would consider a trade if the Spurs can get a good young athletic forward or center in exchange (Danny Granger?)
Barry: if you can still trade him for J.R. do it
Rasho: probably a keeper - i don't know what the Spurs can get for him?
Nazr: sign and trade or let go
Van X: retire
Oberto: keep (give him another chance?)
