Those seem pretty fair to me. I wish Tony would have made 3rd team but he has a lot of years ahead of him.

You would pick Ben?

You would pick Ben?

Yea! Over Shaq? Shaq's been ok in the playoff's so far, but he was considerably less impactful in the regular season! Plus he missed a lot of games due to injuries. I would switch Ben and Shaq there.

So Timmy's string of consecutive All-NBA First Teams comes to an end. At least the writers recognize that he is still a dominant force in the game, even if some fans choose to write him off.

Big ups to Timmy!

No KG- wow- barely beaten out by Carmelo!

Also notice the lead vote-getter-- LeBron.

I would've liked to see Duncan make 1st team as the center (if they can classify Bruce as a guard why not?) but that's a completely biased way of looking at it. If he was listed at center he wouldn't have made 1st team a lot of the earlier years, so it's fair.

TD barely got 2nd team over Marion. Still, even given his struggles all season the respect factor kept him there. 17 first-team votes !!

Also interesting that all but one of the players on the first two teams is still playing.

Marion > TD this year...

Statistically, perhaps. But that's about it.

The reports of Mr. Duncan's impending demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Man....KG doesn't make All NBA. Amazing. This guy needs to get out of Minnesota and fast before his love of the game is destroyed...as guilty as the Spurs were of squandering Drob's prime....what's happened to the career of KG due to the idiotic management of the TWolves is 10 times worse.

It's time for KG to demand a trade to SA....

Shaq>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ben

Okay...Ben Wallace played 82 games while Shaq played in 59. Shaq had career lows in points (20.0), rebounds (9.2), assists (1.9), and blocks (1.67).

I don't really care - these lists are meaningless and he's been All-NBA now for five years. But if Ben Wallace won the DPOY on reputation...

It's his board, I'd say you should cut him some slack.

Besides, is it not true that Dirk is 1-8 in the fourth quarter this series and 0-fer the last two games?

You're right. Do you think the Spurs will figure that out and stop fouling him so much? Maybe they should just sag off, let him jack up another brick, and box out for the rebound. I mean I understand hack a Shaq and hack a Bowen but hack a Dirk seems really stupid.

05-17-2006, 02:43 PM
Yeah. Even when Shaq would play 5 games in a season he would be picked on the 1st team. They are just filling his resume.
Why TD should not be considered as a center in that situacion?
Nevermind.
best in the west and only one player in allnba teams (and the 2nd one). That's not the way it should be.

I understand that Popovich has instructed Bruce Bowen to stop breathing while playing defense in 4th quarters.

Who guards Lebron?

Who cares? They are far superior defensively. The lane would be completely shut down. Somewhere on the frontline they would have a mis-match because Shaq can only guard Duncan, Brand, or Wallace. He can't guard all three.

Bryant would guard Wade, and Nash would cover Billups. That means that Billups could get wherever he wants. I would worry about the offense getting bogged down from constantly throwing the ball into Brand and Duncan. I would worry about the overall size and length of the 1st team because they would play the passing lanes.

But at the end of the day, I am certain that the 2nd team could take the first in a playoff series. The third team would be lucky to win 45 games.

I think you could pick and roll the First Team to death with Brand/Duncan and Billups. And if you didn't do that, you could play Duncan on the low block and use Brand as a high post, similar to the way the Spurs used David Robinson after 1998 or so. Plus, you'd have Ben Wallace on the weakside gobbling up offensive boards and creating 2nd chance opportunities.

The Second Team would have some weaknesses shooting the 3 (other than Billups) but teaming Wade and Billups with those bigs would be ridiculous.

Dirk's a huge poon in late game situations... I think the Gasol thing was a joke because everyone knows how worthless Pau is at all times... worst all-star selection ever

Duncan is kicking Dirk's ass this series. Pussy is guarded by midgets and can only get points that the ref gives him. Enjoy your first and last trip to the first team vagina. Even this year Brand should have beat out der flailer.

Marion > TD this year...
Sure he is. That's why PHO is rumored to be shopping him. He's a complementary player in a run'n'gun system who wouldn't score 15 points on most teams, yet is still being paid a MAX salary. Phoenix FINALLY realized this, but only after letting Joe Johnson get away. They should have traded Marion last summer. They probably could have gotten at least as much, because of his inflated reputation. He's older and less skilled than JJ, and can't create anything but skidmarks in his drawers.

:wtf Shaq making first team???
That is a joke, especially since he only played 59 games.

It's just a reflection of how weak the center position is.

Too bad there wasn't a way to change the system so Brand or Tim would have been on the first team.
