Haven't driven down 35 from New Braunfels in a while, have you?
Hey, 1369...completely off-topic, but ever heard of a Norwegian black metal band called 1349? They kick complete ass. They're named after the year the Black Plague swept across Norway.

Can't say that I have, but I'll Google them and check it out. Always on the lookout for new music.
Reason I asked about I-35 is I found you saying that PB "parades" his wife around when she has her own billboard on 35 outside Selma kinda funny.

Careful, they're not for the faint of heart. Slayer sounds like Barry Manilow compared to 1349. If you're interested, check out their video on youtube.com called Sculptor of Flesh. Couldn't resist bringing them up since your nickname is so close to theirs.

i am talking about parading her around on this forum. and btw, just b/c she has her own billboard does not mean his behavior is classy, IF he also parades her around outside this forum.
of course this is just my opinion and, hell, she married the guy. its just my thought that she is a person and there is more to her than looks, "the sports chick", etc....at least i would hope.

Scream, Bruno was a freaking blast in studio.
When we did the show, it was crazy. The stuff they said off air was unbelieveably funny. XM Material.
Keep in mind that the model for Krystal was Stacie.
Stacie was a trial run when she did the show with the Thompson Brothers back on Saturday Morning for HARDCORE SPORTS. It worked on certain levels, and then they brought Krystal in to do it nationally.
Regarding the Sports Chick title. C'mon. That's part of the fun. At first, everyone including myself, tried to clone her into a serious sportschick, but it never clicked, and it ended up being a better bit that she was the "Sportschick" without knowing a bunch about sports.

The one time I heard Burns on the radio, he wasn't bad. He wasn't fantastic, but he wasn't bad, but again, this is based on about 20 minutes of listening to him. Burns is a good guy, I met him once at Hooters, pretty down to Earth. It's unfortunate the company that he keeps though.

Very cool. I remember when you guys were on, it made for good radio. My KMPC moles tell me that Bruno is quite the pervert, and likes to cruise Adult Friend Finder and similar sites....not just for laughs, but for actual hookups. Whatever the guy does in his free time is fine with me, because he is extremely entertaining.

All in all guys, I do appreciate the feedback on the station.
I really enjoy the people I work with, and the gig that I get to do.
But it's always good to hear what other people think of the programs. Obviously it's hard for me to critique because I'm so close to the situation.
No matter what show is on, there are always people that will complain. It's just human nature.
It's obvious that you guys listen to the station a good amount. And you've discussed what you don't like about the station. Are there any things that you guys like and would like see more of?

Getting rid of that shrill, whiny bitch Chancellor is the best move 760 ever made. As for what I want more of, please bring back the Mrs. Green promos. Hopefully, the guy who did the Mrs. Green voice is still around.
And Burns, what's the real story on why you and Lundy got punked out of the FSR fantasy show gig? Did Chunky A. stab you guys in the back? I understand if you can't talk about it, but it seems like the switcheroo was made at the last possible second. As I recall, you and Lundy were touting the show on the Friday before the debut, and then *boom* the Thompsons land in the booth on Sunday.

What I don't like is when they never let Stacie finish a sentance. How are you ever going to get good at something if you don't get to do it often? It seems like Walter and jeff are intimidated by her or something. I think Rob Thompsons and Burns would make a great show.
Rob is not that much of a homer like his tree hugging brother and he will admit when he is wrong. Peter Burns tries to hard sometimes. His jokes are sometimes over most slow Texans and Mexicans heads here in San Antonio, And he has so much to say on each topic his mouth can't move fast enough for his brain at times. he might be better off doing his own show solo.
I like Jeff Vexler but he rides the fence like David Chancelore they say how they don't like a player and how they suck and then they say but he is the right man for the job all in the same 60 seconds. It's like they don't want to offend anyone in case they might be a guest on the show. Or maybe they just forget what they just said 2 minutes earlier.
The only thing I don't like about Jeff vexler besides his bias homerizum? Is that everytime a caller calls in he asked them a question, It's kinda makes the caller talk about what Jeff wants not what the caller wants. If a caller wants to talk about if Manu should ride the bench more, or if maybe the Cowboys should tank the season and get a good QB next year? they never get the chance, Jeff will say "we have Tom on the line" "so Tom how you feel about what Walter said?" "you think Walter is right about Drew Bledsoe?" By the time the caller answers the question? Jeff says thanks for the call and moves on.
Don Harris is a trip, he tells the listeners that the folks sending in the e mails are a bunch of losers living in thier mothers basements and have no life and then before the show is over he tells the same listeners to log on to Ticket .com to post your favorite NFL team and not to forget to e mail the show :lmao
At least that is how the show used to be back in June when I used to tune in. Now at 4pm I watch Oprah as I listen to my Mp3 player.
I am sure if San Antonio gets it's shit together and makes a show worth listening too and calling into , I will read about it here, as I read all the time how it sucks.
This seems to be the place for feedback, until then? you all already know how I feel about the ticket

You should have heard The Hippie patting himself on the back this morning, bragging that his show was so good, and had become so popular, that management had no choice but to move them from 760's weak signal to 1200's blowtorch. If 1200's signal is so strong that it can really be heard in 38 states, I am truly ashamed to be a San Antonian, as people all across America tuning into Parker's brand of crap will think that he and Screamie McJowls are representative of our city. I think every sports talk station should have local stuff, and that local stuff should be presented at the end of the day in the time slot that Vex and Walter are in. Every city deserves a local sports show that has emphasis on local sports. However, yes, the current hosts fucking blow and have no business on the radio.

I like that...although I don't mind getting the local stuff in a morning show. I do like good balance though. I think it should also be changeable. If say the Spurs are in the finals, that is local and national and I don't mind heavy emphasis on that. Especially that time of the year when there is not really much else going on. I also don't mind when a nearby team (A&M, Baylor, UT) gets into a bowl if there is more coverage on that. I do like though, talk about all the bowls and don't think that should be ignored.

So, since today is allegedly their last days together on the morning show, I decided to tune in for a little. First of all, as it turns out, I still fucking hate their show and it still sucks. Second, some guy called in to criticize the show in regards to Chuck not doing his homework. I'll say this, the caller absolutely did terrible but it still got under Chuck's skin, and we know how easy that is to do.
Chuck replied that he should go down to the callers place of business and criticize him while he flips burgers. This got me to thinking, why would Chuck criticize his most regularly visited businesses? God knows that in order to have a head with a hat size of 12 1/4, one must eat Whopper after Whopper for most of one's adult life. And furthermore, what's wrong with people that work at fast food joints, at least they do their job well for 50% of the time.

Believe me, nothing will change from the morning show.
Chancellor will still be a whiny little bitch who does no prep work for his show and rolls into the studio 1 minute before air time. He will still raise his voice like a banshee to distract you from the fact that he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. He will still be a pedophile who gets his rocks off by ogling teenagers at the live remotes he covers at high school football games on Friday nights. He will still be deserving of a beatdown from me, johnsmith, and johngateswhitely.
And he will still be in dire need of some Restylane treatment to fill in his Grand Canyon-esque jowl lines.

I thought Don Harris was the voice of Tom Foolery.....
He is/was (don't know if he does the bit for 1310 anymore).
I had an old compilation tape of his bits from a few years back that Dunuham and Miller put together over the course of the "season". I laughed my ass off. Don nailed the stereotypical South Texas coach (His coach bears an eerie resemblance to Jerry Comalander who I played for). I just don't think it would carry here in San Antonio since most folks know of coaches like that compared to folks in North Texas.
I do think that 760 could learn a lot from 1310 though.

Even Czaban was clowning on Chancellor and The Fat Hippie this morning. In the midst of welcoming Ticket 760 back into the fold for the full 3 hours, he said something like, "those local yokels who chop blocked San Antonio out of the full 3 hours finally got yanked." His sidekick, Scott Linn, chimed in, "I think those guys got promoted, over to their sister station." Czaban replied sarcastically, "Yeah, sure, they were 'PROMOTED.' Whatever." Gotta love Czaban.

I heard that shit too. Oh man that is good stuff. Czabe cracks me up. When describing the Broncos loss to the Colts yesterday he said, "Payton Manning carved up the Broncos secondary like OJ through Nicole's neck". That was some funny shit. Heh heh....ultimately, 'twas their own extreme and unprecedented crappiness that ultimately ran them off.
Well...go away for awhile and now this. :) I'm glad C&C is no longer on in the mornings. It was like sliding nails over a blackboard, painful. I enjoy listening to First Show on Fox also, at least now you get to hear the WHOLE show, instead of a condence one.
For the one who said Todd Wright would be a good listen to...please. He was horrible when he was on ESPN. Jim Daniels was way better than him, period. Jason Smith, a former FSR alumnist works the overnight on ESPN, but nothing beats Fox Sports Radio at night, with the exception of JT the Prick who sucks.
Jorge Sedano's show is good, but at times he tends to let his relationship with the Miami Heat taint the show and bring it to a halt.
But back to the topic at hand...to a POINT, local sports shows are needed, but in very short doses, not a two or three hour show. I mean all that's going on here is the Spurs, put it on WOAI before and after the games, and once a week (on an off night) have a one hour show devoted strictly to the team, with say Kori either co-hosting or something like that. But a local sports show here in the afternoon doesn't cut it, it never did and until another major sports team calls San Antonio home, it never will.

Someone called in to the "Topic Wheel" segment of Vexler's show today and was clowning on Chancellor and Parker getting run off of 760. The producer Eric Gray in particular got a kick out of it, and you could tell from his derisive laughter that their transfer to WOAI was not a "promotion."
I still get a kick out of the "promotion" spin Lundy and his crew are trying to sell the listeners.

Ugh, these guys are HORRIBLE! I could only tune in for a few minutes, but that was long enough to hear their "Short and Hairy" College Top 10 countdown, wherein Vexler bemoaned Ohio State's close game "with Ball State." He went on and on about "Ball State" nearly coming back from a 17-0 deficit, and then noted that Michigan also played a close game. He failed to mention who Michigan's opponent was, but decried Michigan's "lack of offense." Hey dumbass, Michigan is the one that played Ball State, and they put up 34 points, hardly a lack of offense. Walter the Lizard and Eric Gray failed to correct The Midget, most likely because they were just as clueless.
Seriously, if these guys are going to hold themselves out as experts, why can't they get some basic facts straight? Even Stacie the Sports Chick knows West Virginia and Rutgers are in the same conference, and that Ohio State played Illinois while Michigan played Ball State last weekend. I shudder at the thought of how many mistakes these guys must make over the course of an entire 3-hour show. No wonder they use filler like the Topic Wheel and Family Feud...it helps mask their complete incompetence when it comes to fundamental sports knowledge.

Walter's decent in my opinion.
He brings a certain stereotype to the table. The problem is, with an idiot like that you need a sensible knowledgable guy to balance the table. Someone like, Al Michaels. Problem is he has someone like...Vexler and Screech from Saved by the Bell.

agreed. I could understand if they got the name wrong on some obscure trivia fact but how hard is it to read the paper and see who played who? Too many mistakes in that show constantly. One of the few things I do NOT miss about SA.

...i did not know where else to post this.
but what is up with ticket 760 and it's horrible sports talk lineup. first, i don't understand why we only have one sports talk station. and second, why do sports games have to be broadcast on the only station we have for sports talk (excluding spurs and what ever other teams are on 1200 or some other station). that makes...zero sense. then there is no sports talk and if you want to listen to sports its some game you could care less about.
as for the actually lineup:
1. charlie and chance...wth? could anyone know less about sports? these guys are like listening to nails on a chalkboard...stfu
2. the morning extravaganza...it's fine. it's not like it use to be with tony bruno, but it's OK
3. jim rome...not a bad show. his schtick gets old at times, but then he has his moments where his interviews and takes are quite interesting or even funny. but his show has gotten a little old over the years, imo. and please stop it with the replacements and all the other crap you try to peddle
4. the drive...the only guy on sports talk that tries to be more politically correct than jim rome. i mean enough is enough already. his takes on sports are poor and i am always happy when he is on assignment and replaced in studio
5. STSA...oh-my-gosh. shoot me in the fucking head. whomever gave these guys this radio show needs to be shot and then run over....twice. it is a close race between these two buffoons and charlie and chance for the worst sports radio show ever. how long do people have to be subjected to this crap...if i wanted to listen non-sports topics, stupidity, and complete garbage, i'd listen to my girlfriend
6. craig sheemon and james washington...don't care enough to really even comment on them. not sure if they even still have this slot though, might have moved to another on FSR...either way
7. J.T. the Brick...Thank the Lord! this guy is great. i love his takes, he has energy and is always fun to listen to with decent takes
8. jorge sedano....not bad. from what i have heard, i did not dislike him. not a bad personality
9. steve czaban...not bad either. could be better, but definitely listenable
...thats the weekday list and i don't listen as much on the weekends, so i won't comment. i use to love listening to Tony Bruno on FSR with the Extravaganza but of course he has moved to sporting news radio. Bruno does play on AM 1420 and i always listen to him from 9-12, it just stinks that it is a new braunfels station and not as clear or strong as 760 is. but i think Bruno is the best. always fresh, best interviews, doesn't talk about himself (not seriously at least), hilarious, and covers a wide range of topics that always goes back to sports. his show works, imo.
...of course this leaves me with 760 from 12-3 until i can go back to the Tim Brando show on SNR. and then there is the spanier show after that which is actually not bad. is it me or does SNR just blow FSR out of the water? and how can new braunfels have their lineup and not us?
...another point is that on ticket 760 some yahoo said that the reason they go with local talent in the morning and STSA on the drive home is that it is what the callers want. well i seriously hope that is not the case, cause that is just amazing if thats true. i hate to use the word stupid and i am not calling anyone that but, man, thats stupid. how could anyone want to listen to this crap.
...anway, thank goodness for am 1420. i just wish it came in clearer...maybe i'll just move to XM or sirious and say to hell with it all.
I feel you on this 100%... and I want the good people of SpursTalk to know that I am working as hard as I can in school to get my degree, take those bafoon's jobs, and save us all.... maybe we could start a petition to get me there sooner??? Freaking hilarious, Mr. Dio! That pederast Chancellor probably doesn't spend too much time at the Bonham, as he's usually lurking at the high schools and junior highs offering candy to cute little boys. And the rest of his time is spent working on his scrapbook tributes to T.O., Tiger Woods, Yoda, and the Aggies. The thing about the "Ode to the FCC" segment is that it's a bunch of lies! We are led to believe that players and coaches are cussing during interviews, but it's all edited! Alot of those interviews I had seen on tv, especially the ones with Tony Dungy, and no where did Dungy cuss.

(amazed)...on mike and mike right now, they are trying to take credit for the word ridonculous. saying they made it up and people are going to use it b/c its a good word substitute for filthy. these guys, not only do they suck, are two of the biggest dorks on national radio...
...hey assholes, i've known about that word for YEARS, which means someone made it up probably a decade ago. good work jaggoffs.

Radio and TV people are some of the lowest forms of life, They will steal and back stab there own people. Did you see Larry king during a commercial break talking about how he is upset that new guy on his network is getting more air time than him? He said he has been around longer etc..... the guy works on the same network. I heard Greg More say on KTSA how the ticket should have fired Vex and Walter for that skit when just a few months ago Greg was part of the ticket family.
Look at how everyone was tossing Nate Lundy's ass when he was Program Director and now they won't give him the time of day. I could never do radio and have to lie to people about some product I really don't even use. And how I lost 20lbs and you need to buy it also. how do those folks sleep at night?

Larry King Not A Fan Of Anderson Cooper
http://www.fafarazzi.com/gossip/116340/larry-king-not-a-fan-of-anderson-cooper
The older journalist gets upset that the Silver Fox is getting more air time during coverage of Sunday's Democratic nominees' presidential debate.
King was inadvertently caught on tape during a break acting all diva towards the Coop.

Alright..I heard from a 760 listener that vex and walter were bitching and moaning over an article written about them by a dallas journalist. Anyone have a link to it? Apparently it was critical of their show.
Where is Vex?
I heard STSA intro they said Walter's name but no mention of Vex, Walter mentioned the show producer's name but no mention of Vex.

I was wondering the same thing earlier. Maybe they got tired of Vex's "under the weather" days off and changed the intro for those occasions; or maybe they just let him go.

Vexler is gone from CC.
http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblogs/jakle06/
They have a local show at noon on Saturday called 'the sports grind' and those guys are great. They have a ton of knowledge and actually talk sports. I'd hope they get a drive time shot soon.

King, I know you're not there anymore, but do you know if Jim Bob Breazaele is still working there (either intern or employed)?

Pretty sure he is. I know he ran the board a few times for Sports Grind, but also was doing on field reporting from Cowboys camp at the dome, and that was only like a week ago.
And he was employed, never an intern.

Vexler gone from Ticket 760
"Effective immediately, Jeff Vexler is no longer with KTKR," stated a memo distributed to Clear Channel employees late Monday.
It went on to say that Walter Pasacrita, Vexler's co-host of "Sports Talk San Antonio," would continue to helm the Ticket 760 show from 3 to 7 p.m.
Clear Channel-San Antonio's operations manager George King did not elaborate on the circumstances of Vexler's exit. The station memo, however, went on to read: "We wish Jeff the best in his future."
Vexler was not on Monday's edition of "Sports Talk;" Pasacrita hosted it solo.
The departure happened some four months after the duo made headlines over a controversial skit that ran on the Ticket show.
"Sports Talk's" executive producer, Eric Gray, was let go over the skit, which included a fabricated interview with Denver Nuggets guard Allen Iverson and included talk of drugs, sexual references involving "Mexican" women on the River Walk and the accidental shooting of a homeless man who turned out to be an "illegal alien."
Though the Spurs reacted by cutting ties with Vexler and Pasacrita, the hosts received no apparent discipline over the incident.
...
Well that's not exactly correct - they were in the locker room etc during the latter rounds of the playoffs, so their ties weren't cut.

Cool. Thanks, Taco.
Jim Bob and I worked together at The Star briefly and he's also the voice of the Bobcats. He's the PA guy for football and basketball. Good buddy, good guy to hang with.

I dont listen for any extended period anymore. But headed home everyday I put it on just long enough to see what that moron's talking about and for the past week plus, it's been non-stop Cowboys....sounds like that's all he really knows.
If I didn't know better...I'd swear there was no NBA team here.
