I wasn't born on 9/11, but on my birthday in 1983, Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys drowned while taking a dip in the Pacific Ocean from his boat moored in Marina Del Rey, CA. He was supposedly somewhat incapacitated by alcohol at the time. Oddly enough, he was the only authentic surfer in the band. Dennis was 39.

Uhhhhhhh........this thread took a strange twist. At my office everyone gets a birthday cake. Well they usually put it out in the mornings for some strange reason. We were all looking at it and then some said to turn on a tv. Well we turn the TV on in the conference room where the cake was and saw the first tower had just gotten hit by a plane. Needless to say, it was all down hill from there.

to say it made it an even worse day for him....he hasn't celebrated his bday since.

My step-dad was in those barracks that morning. He had planned to go to breakfast with his buddies that morning, but decided to sleep in.

Sleeping in saved his life.

Mine's close enough (9/8). The media kinda kills the mood with all the prep for the 9/11 ceremonies. By the time the 8th rolls around, nobody is in the mood to party. Of course, now that I'm in my mid-30's, neither am I. :)

Ronald Reagan was shot on my first birthday.


My aunt's wedding anniversary is on 9/11. Their 30 year anniversary was 9/11/01.
