Marin Ferencevic

By Milan Lazarevic

Marin Ferecevic (born 1992.) young cadet from KK Virovitica, scored 178 points on one single game. This unbelievable match between Virovitica and ABN Graminea was played in local U14 Croatian league and final result was 187:70.

Ferencevic scored 178 points, grabbed 22 rebounds and stole 16 balls. For 3 he was shooting 9/14, for 2: 67/72 (?!) and from penalty line fantastic 17/18. In first quarter Ferencevic scored 34 pts, in second 61 pts, in third 55 pts and in fourth "only" 28 pts.

Just a month ago, Marin did similar thing when he scored 101 pts on a game. He is a son of ex basketball player Branko Ferencevic, who is also living basketball legend in Virovitica. Little Marin is playing on playmaker position even (though) he is the tallest player in the team.

Unfortunately, Andres Nocioni and Josh Howard would have been a nice long wing player...but that just didn't work out.

You never know, this kid might only grow 2 more inches in height the rest of his life, but it is interesting to see how someone would be allowed to score that many points in a developmental league. At least in the pic, he's in the "triple threat" position so I guess they are still teaching fundamentals.

RC and Sam have probably known about him for years!! :lol

Given that his dad played basketball and they probably also by 14 have a good guess as to his eventual height, it is smart to play him at PG.

Spurs draft pick.

Naw, Spurs would never sign a player that went 17/18 at the line. :lol

As stuck as Pop seems to be on small ball, this kid might just fit.

How do you know that?

Because those numbers are telling me so.
Maybe he had lucky day.
How about other games?
Maybe he had Birthday.

I donīt know, but i do not belive he is for real, that is for sure.

But I am happy for him.

I found some more stats about this guy.

He plays in 3 different leagues, U-14, U-16 and U-18.

In U-14 his average was 71 points in 12 games played.
(178, 76, 59, 52, 59, 101, 71, 70, 58, 48, 28, 52)

In U-16 he played 9 games and had 31 PPG.

In U-18 he also played 9 games and had 15 PPG:

If he grows too much, he falls out of Pop's small ball rotation. Stay short, kid.

He should stick to the U-16 & U-18 leagues... let his raw talent transform into incredible ability by playing with the older guys. Concentrate on game experiances where he is actually challenged.

Also- as CubanMustGo mentioned - he should work on getting his FT% down to about 63% so that he can be Spurs eligable.

No but rumor has it Don Nelson was coaching the other team's defense as part of a coaches' clinic game. :smokin

Sooooooo fake.Thissite justwants to make some news. In a AAu game there is about 32 minutes of play. This means he scored about 6 points a minute with no rest. MAybe he plays in the Y. But no competitive team would allow him to do this. Look at him, he white and scrawny.
