We had a great season. Tony Parker emerges as an All-Star, and despite Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili being injured all season, our team goes for a franchise record 63 wins.
We just witnessed one of the greatest NBA series' ever. The only way it would've been better is if the Spurs completed the comeback, especially after being down 20. Congrats to the Mavericks. As much as I hate them, they deserved the wins they got. Props to them and good luck.
As for our Spurs, this is going to dwell on their minds all season, so let me make a list of things pertaining to our off-season.
1. Michael Finley. I think he has the 2nd year at his option. I hope he wants to stay here. I really have started to like Mike. He's a great guy and a great player.
2. Tim Duncan will enjoy his rest and come out stronger than ever next year. This series was a preview of next year.
3. Manu will finally get extended rest. Hopefully he'll be better for next year.
4. Tony must continue to work on his shot. If can develop a good midrange game and even a decent 3, he will be a top 3 point guard.
5. Robertas Javotokas needs to be brought over. We could use the athleticism and the power at his position.
6. Let Nazr go. We could use the cap room, and we need to get a center that's reliable and has a good all-around game. I like Nazr, but he's not the kidn of player we need.
7. Revisit the JR Smith trade. He may not be towering, but he is athletic as freakin' hell. He is still very young and in a winning situation, the guy will love it here. 6'6" and 220. He's strong and a good size. Getting rid of Barry for him is a good idea. I love Brent, but we need to get younger.
8. Go after Joel Pryzbilla.
9. Go after Kevin Garnett. :lol (Seriously though, if TD and KG were on the same team...oh my God)
10. Make a run at Speedy Claxton. He said he wants to come back to San Antonio and he would be the best option for a backup PG.
11. Get ready to make a run at the title.
Anything else you guys wanna add?
