Haha... after the Pistons won in six against the Bucks and seven against the Cavs I really do think the Heat will pull it off. Pistons are paper champs, nothing more.

Words from a man who knows his series. Please, some explanation as to why they are, "Paper Champs?" Do they tend to fake what they say on court? Do they seem unpassionated about how they proceed on the game? Such knowledge and contempt from someone who obviously knows the game of basketball.

Miami's been shooting very well, and we haven't. We're getting the looks, but they're just not falling. I'm ok with it. even if they lose this one. We're not getting outplayed, just out shot.

What looks? Rip Hamilton has been turned into a standing shooter or an isolation player. He flat-out doesn't move without the ball to get open midrange jumpers off double curl screens anymore.

Guess who I'm blaming for that? And Billups can't make a post entry feed to save his life, but that's hardly anything new.

And just why should we expect that Chauncey Billups is suddenly not going to choke, or that Tayshaun Prince won't play like the slow, overrated piece of garbage that he is?

Now, a lot of other players are missing open shots, and that's unfortunate, but there's nobody to blame for the overall systematic failure but Chauncey and Flip.

Riley's using Hack-a-Ben. :fro

IMO, Pistons bench is looking very thin....that's on Flip Saunders. It's not like you guys don't have good bench players outside of Hunter and McDyess....who don't really see as many minutes as they should. Flip's burning out your starters.

He's a drama queen. Half the time, his falling down 7 times and getting up 8 is due to his flailing and theatrics. But I'll give him credit since he almost always gets the call.

The lack of energy is probably due to the fact that the Pistons just finished a game 7 two nights ago, while the overweight Miami team has been sitting on their asses for almost a week.

That's typical for us....just we normaly hit like 12 of those.

Honestly... I don't want to say it's done. But unless Flip has a revelation and starts really getting the bench involved, I think the starters are going to be too tired to execute their offense (Read: Make jumpshots). The Pistons played well enough tonight that they could have won easily if they had their legs under them.

Who said they lost ONLY because they were tired?

They couldn't throw the ball in the ocean, stop penetration from a 56 year old backup PG, closeout on shooters, USE THE FUCKING BENCH, etc. etc.

Those are all signs of being tired. The jumpers were short (dead legs). The defense was slow (dead legs).

I'm tired of saying they were tired because it's their own damn fault for being tired...

I would expect adjustments in G2 but this is Flip we are talking about. Enough said, eh?

1Parker1
05-23-2006, 10:00 PM
Well they play a 7 man rotation the entire playoffs. The only two bench guys Flip uses are McDyess and Hunter. Of course the Pistons starters are going to get tired...hence the reason their jumpshots came up short in the 4th.

Pistons shot 38%, and Heat shot 56%. Pistons were bricking wide-open shots all game long, and lost by 5. A loss is a loss, but this one won't keep me awake tonight; not in the least.

Pistons < Spurs
05-23-2006, 10:02 PM
We took 18 more ahots than the Heat.

We only had 6 to's vs 15 for Miami.

IF we shot a little better, it'd be a win.

No big deal. We'll get a little more rest, and get game 2.

we'll occasionally see Delk,Evans or Davis depending on circumstances in each game.

but i don't expect much from any of them. just little spurts here and there.

The Pistons need to win Game 2. They do that, and everything is fine and dandy again. A win in Game 3 would be nice too.

GoSpurs90899
05-23-2006, 10:08 PM
The east is WEAK. Pistons have no bench and their starters except for billups and teh completely useless vs dallas or phoenix wallace would have trouble making a top 10 at their positions list.

Pistons = 50 win team tops in the west. Too arrogant. The only way they could have done anything is with hard work, especially since they have no bench, but the last several months its like they think they're so good they only have to show up to win.

Seriously, they have dale freakin davis logging minutes. I thought that guy was dead.

PaceMonster
05-23-2006, 10:16 PM
Pistons- 2,0 vs Spurs.....2,0 vs Phoenix.....1,1 vs Dallas...those are the best teams in the west.....they would do the same in the west as in the east....maybe a few less wins

Bob Lanier
05-23-2006, 10:40 PM
The Pistons' bench is not that weak, and the fact that Dale Davis is not logging minutes is a problem.

Their arrogance is a major issue, though.
