Osama bin Laden said Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person convicted in a U.S. court for the September 11 attacks, had nothing to do with the operations, according to a Web site audiotape released on Tuesday. Bin Laden said he had personally assigned tasks to the 19 hijackers who staged the attacks on U.S. cities which killed about 3,000 people.
The truth is that he has no connection whatsoever with the events of September 11. I am certain of what I say because I was responsible for entrusting the 19 brothers ... with the raids," said the speaker who sounded like the leader of Al Qaeda.
The authenticity of the tape could not be verified. It was posted on a Web site often used by Al Qaeda. Moussaoui was sentenced on May 4 to life in prison with no chance of release, ending 4-1/2 years of legal wrangling over his fate.
The 37-year-old French citizen of Moroccan descent pleaded guilty last year to conspiracy in connection with the attacks, in which hijacked airliners were flown into buildings in New York City and Washington D.C. Some U.S. officials initially said they believed Moussaoui was to have taken part in the September 11 attacks as a 20th hijacker. Others later said he was supposed to have been part of a second wave of attacks that were not carried out.

This guy puts out more tapes than the Dixie Chicks. Not that even Dubya takes him seriously anymore.

I don't think he could handle 1 much less 40.
Serious note. Something is going on within OBL group. Why would he,
OBL, want all the credit? Maybe a power struggle going on behind the
scenes?

I bet he handles the one just fine. So, Nbadan, left-handed or right?

Seriously, OBL is dead.

I don't think he's dead either, but he doesn't seem to be calling the shots for Al Queda anymore. The Taliban are reorganizing in Afghanistan and Pakistan under one-eyed, Afghan leader Mohammed and a war hero from the Soviet war.

Based on information in the public domain since December 17, 2001; prove he's alive. (I will admit the pre-election video in '04 kind is problematic but, if Nbadan can wear his tin foil hat, I can don one and theorize that is a fake video).
C'mon, we've gone from videotaped monologues where his mouth actually seems to match the words coming out of it; to voice overs of some "file footage" of him wandering around some stony hillside; to audio tapes; to second-hand messages and back to audio tapes.
If the guy was alive he'd have a daily prime-time program on al Jazeera. For some reason, it serves someone's strategic purposes for him to be alive.
The man is greasing the space between two boulders in a Tora Bora mountainside. And, he's being doing so since approximately December 17, 2001. I think, in the end, that is what we'll find out.

And, we're in the process of killing them -- as we type. Like, right now.

I'm pretty sure he survived Tora Bora. He was probably evacuated by the Pakistani ISI (Pakistan's version of the CIA).

Exactly. That doesn't change my statement. They've made the mistake of coming out of the caves and we're killing them.

We don't have enough troops in Afghanistan, and now the Afghanistans are trained in assymetrical warfare.

You must think that intelligence personnel live on a separate plane of reality than the rest of the world. That they can just move around at will, dodging bullets and being unaffected by Daisy Cutters and such.
I know it comes from watching too much 24, or The Unit, or maybe you were remembering an old episode of Mission Impossible. I don't know. But, I don't think Davids Blaine or Copperfield could have gotten bin Laden out of Tora Bora during that period in December of 2001.
Now, I'll admit, it's possible he survived the bombings but, if that'd been the case, I'm thinking he wouldn't have waited as long as he did to resurface and that, when he did, he would have done it on video.

Okay, we'll see who comes out on top. Your team (the terrorists, led by a one-eyed Mullah that wipes his ass with his hand) or mine (the greatest fighting force the world has ever seen - the United States Military).

The Repugs have screwed up and mismanaged and wasted the US military in both Afghanistan and Iraq. The US is losing both countries.

CIA Authenticates Bin Laden Tape
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has confirmed that it is Osama bin Laden's voice on an audiotape that was released Tuesday on the Internet.
The CIA says it made that determination after a technical analysis of the tape.
In the recording, bin Laden said imprisoned terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui had nothing to do with the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.
Bin Laden said he personally assigned what he called the "19 brothers" to carry out the attacks, referring to the 19 hijackers, and that Moussaoui was not one of them.

Bin Laden must really care for Moussaoui to take the time to issue this 'rare' tape.

(BSNews)Osama bin Laden allegedly said in a videotape Tuesday that he would be “lost” without the unswerving support of news organizations in relating his frequent messages to the world – the first time the terrorist leader has expressed gratitude for the role of the press in furthering al-Qaida’s interests.
“To all those prestigious news entities out there who have supported me through the years, I would just like to take this time to express my eternal gratitude to you. Truly, without your help, I would be lost,” the speaker claiming to be bin Laden said in the tape which originally aired on the al-Jazeera network. “Sure, I am the one in charge of al-Qaida, but without your constant help, I would find it impossible to get my messages out there to the people,” he said, referring to the over 300 missives he’s released to the press since September 11, 2001.
Two counterterrorism officials in Washington, Jack Gower and Bill Bryson, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said U.S. intelligence was already aware of the bin Laden message, and didn’t need to be told about it by some panty-waste reporter. One of the officials (Jack) said there is no reason to doubt its authenticity. The other (Bill) said there is no reason to go telling the entire world everything “Osama bin Jackass says every time he decides to spout off at the mouth.”
Bin Laden also praised the news media for continuing to expose the U.S. Government’s over-reaching efforts in the ‘War on Terror.’ “I would also like to thank the news media for continuing to expose the CIA for what it is – an evil group of Americans bent on destroying al-Qaida,” he said, adding that “NSA wire-tapping is in complete violation with the spirit of the U.S. Constitution.” The terror mastermind urged the press not to pay attention to requests made by the government to stop revealing all of their sensitive intelligence secrets.
