Anybody else see some signs of fatigue with this Suns team? Couple shots off the front of the rim, Diaw with an airball, spots where they would typically drive and lay it up on the break are being pulled up and reset into halfcourt offense.

Suns suck in game two's. Can't explain it other than maybe they battle too hard in game one's and exhaust themselves.

No legs on their jumpers, missing shots in the lane... tough night.

Is David Hasselhoff high?

No kidding. Nice little jab at Barkley though. "If you'd listened to my song you might have hit a few more free throws."

Speaking of Barkley, I was listening to Jim Rome yesterday (yeah, I try not to, but whatever), and after he interviewed Sir Charles, a listener emailed Rome about how Barkley's golf swing looked like an octopus falling out of a tree. Classic. Laughed my ass off almost.

I don't want to hope too much cuz I don't want to get emotionally creamed, but man, I just hope that Phoenix kills the Mavs. They just went up by two on Tim Thomas' 3 pointer. The refs in this game are reminding me of the refs in the Spurs' games, but then I have to remember that the Mavs ARE at home, so maybe they are getting home court calls. Go, Phoenix!!!

Dallas is the best team in the playoffs.

You can hate, you can doubt, but there is only one team in the Playoffs that has consistently proven they are in this to win.

And it all hinges upon one guy, Nowitski. Every time Dallas needs a bucket, or to increase an important lead, he is the guy doing it. Its almost automatic.

I dont like saying this. I do not get any sort of enjoyment for it. Its just fucking true.

Your post is almost as hilarious as you signature. The truth is Nowitzki as wailed as arms in the air like a girl girl every time he gets the ball to draw the foul. Seeing as the refs are on the mavs payroll, the refs will give him free points. Nothing is automatic with Dirk and his team needing a bucket. Believe or not crackhouse and Terry have been the ones hitting critical shots.

The fucking truth is all teams that make the playoffs are in to win even if they don't show it. The better team usually wins. Now watch Nowitzki sing a hasselhoff tune at the line.

You're entirely right. I hate it too. Dallas would murder the Heat. Dallas would murder the Pistons the way the Pistons are playing right now. If the Pistons get their mojo (for lack of a better word) back, I think Detroit's got the edge. But right now, the Mavs have it.

This is one of the biggest problems I have with the NBA.
How does each team shoot 7 free throws in the first half, then in the second one team shoots 29 to the other teams 4? I know some of those came because Phoenix was forced to foul near the end, but come on, that is ridiculous.

Lol, no kidding. Anyway, no, my comments were tinged with sarcasm. HCA shouldn't provide that kind of disparity. Just another example of the bullshit known as NBA officiating. A foul should be a foul, no matter who is committing it, receiving it, where it is, who the owner is, etc.

The issue is that the Mavs are better than the Spurs and yet you guys still harp on about the refs in that series and now are even complaining about the Mavs getting calls in this series. It must be sad to hate a team that much that is eats at you coz they are now better than the Spurs.

There was a foul disparity because the Suns are a jump shooting team and Dallas pounded the ball in the paint again. Need I remind anyone of the extremely lopsided FT differencial of the 2003 NBA WCF? This happened with the Suns in round 1 and 2 as well.

THANK YOU. as a spurs fan the fact that a lot of other fans are still bitching about the refs is downright sickening. Were there some atrocious calls in the series? absolutely, especially the cheap phantom foul on dirk in game 4 (or maybe 3??) where bowen had a touch foul on dirk that gave him 2 freebies when the refs should just let them play. But at the end of the day when your starting PF gets more FT's than the ENTIRE VISITING TEAM COMBINED, there should be no reaosns for us to blame the refs thinking their against us. The mavs were the BETTER team in the 7 game series. they hit a shitload of clutch shots while duncan was getting a series of "return to sender" from diop in OT of game 7. The mavs had one hell of a gutsy win in game 7, and when the devin harris's of the world are massively outplaying our seasonal (but defnitely not playoff) all star tony parker, well..........you've got problems. I give full credit to the mavs, they were the hungrier more athletic team that got it done. They hit the big shots when it mattered and it was us, the supposedly more experienced team, making the ridicuously middle school dumbass plays, like fouling the shooter when you're up 3 with less than 30 seconds to go. This entire board needs to stop blaming the refs and either face facts that the mavs were the better team, or change the direction of their fingers to the spurs who allowed themselves to lose twice at home, and go down by NINETEEN points on their homefloor in game 7 after winning 2 solid games in a row and coming back from a 1-3 hole. The refs didn't beat us, the Mavs did. And if we don't get some more athleticism for next year as well as 145% better rebounding they'll beat us next year as well

This is one of the biggest problems I have with the NBA.
How does each team shoot 7 free throws in the first half, then in the second one team shoots 29 to the other teams 4? I know some of those came because Phoenix was forced to foul near the end, but come on, that is ridiculous.

I agree. Ask San Antonio the same question about Game 7.

There was a foul disparity because the Suns are a jump shooting team and Dallas pounded the ball in the paint again. Need I remind anyone of the extremely lopsided FT differencial of the 2003 NBA WCF? This happened with the Suns in round 1 and 2 as well.

Suns had as many points in the paint as Mavs did. They just couldn't get calls. Simple as that. Phil Jackson was right when he said Cuban caused the refs to be intimidated in Dallas after all his bitching to the league.

LOL, Suns fans don't like you, read their forums sometime. They bash Duncan as being a whiner and talk about how many calls the Spurs get in their favor, etc etc etc. I recall some thread about *good riddance* when the Mavs won. Anyway, you guys should just root for the East because, while the Suns fans don't like the Spurs, the eastern teams don't care.

A couple of observations from this game. Playing Van Horn in this series works into Phoenix's hands. He has no inside game and takes away the rebounding advantage the mavs normally have. Diop to me is the best fit for this series. Even though Diaw got a lot of points Diop was the only one to take away the layup drill the suns when Van Horn was out there. The mavs need Diop out there and need to slow the speed down enough so that they can get back on defense and find their man.

Wait is there no jumpshooting in the paint? How about you consider the Mavs took it hard to the basket and the Suns commited hard fouls on them. The suns points in the paint were scored with ease against us (mostly when Diop was out and KVH was playing) they had no trouble at all driving through KVH and putting those crazy, yet good shots that always goes in. So enough with the complaining about refs this refs that. You guys are sore losers about the Spurs series and you only look at calls(good or bad in which you guys take to another level of bad either way) that goes the Mavs way, yet you never care to see what calls go against us because you just want the Mavs to lose period. Game one huge bad calls(BS offensive fouls on harris) at the end of regulation of the Mavs game, Yet thats not what I blame the "L" on, I blame it on stupid careless turnovers we made in which we could have won if we didn't fuck up (sounds familiar, game 3 and 4 anybody?). Oh yeah you guys were too busy washed up on the calls that "ended" your games. The funny part was that both Josh and Diop were out with injuries in game 1(nobody cares to acknowlede this), and Josh had come out firing with 6 points in 6 minutes before getting injuried(bet you guys were hoping he broke his leg, like Dirk, shows your true colors there).

Wow...I'm surprised to see someone say this.

nice comebacks guys :rolleyes. The Nuggets sucked this playoffs and i can admit the clippers were much better and deserved to win, thats not the issue. The issue is that the Mavs are better than the Spurs and yet you guys still harp on about the refs in that series and now are even complaining about the Mavs getting calls in this series. It must be sad to hate a team that much that is eats at you coz they are now better than the Spurs.

As i said, i can admit the Nuggets got outplayed, when are you all going to realise the Mavs are winning coz they outplay their opponents and not coz of the ref?

well man its pretty simple i mean if you can just get dirks dick out of your mouth and realize that when a team goes to the line twenty six times verses your nine times its kind of hard to win that one buddy. remember this yes the nba is a great sport i love it with all of my heart but the tempo of the game is controled by the officials.

people expect the suns to go to the line alot? They hardly go inside, its all jumpshooting and 3 pointers.

And of course the tempo can be controlled by the refs, it happens in alot of sports but there is no point whining about it for weeks and weeks during and after a series........

last season the Spurs got alot of calls during their run to the title but does anyone really care about that now? There is no asterix next to the tiutle saying *- won due to the refs........ :smokin

yeh he whines alot, we all know that but whats your point? You think his whining actually sways the refs alot?

By whining alot it puts people on the same level as Cuban and who wants that? :lol (except fpor his $$$ of course)

The mavs won the series, not cuban. Just move on and stop whining about how the mavs get it better than the rest of the league coz as i said, the Spurs had it sweet last season and i had to witness some very bias calls that went to TD when they faced the Nugs in the 1st round.

I dont blame the refs for the Nuggets losing coz they were clearly outplayed. Sure it got frustrating but it didnt decide the outcome of the series. Thats the same as the mavs-spurs, there were some bad calls but the Spurs still got outplayed

I love the complaints about # of FT's... :lol

The Suns don't draw a lot of fouls...that's just the way they play...JUMPSHOTS. By far the least FT attempts / game of anyone in the league...

The Mavs DO draw fouls...

The Mavs aren't logging as many Diop/Dampier minutes, which is where they get a lot of their fouls (especially in the Spurs series)...

The Suns sent the Mavs to the line 6-8 times in the last 30 seconds or so out of desperation...

The Mavs had more than 3X the # of FT attempts on only twice the number of fouls...ie, the Mavs committed more non-shooting fouls. 11 FT's from 12 fouls for PHO and 36 FT's on 24 fouls for the Mavs.

Everybody who is talking up Phoenix in Phoenix -- Didn't the Mavs just come in and win game 7 on the Spurs home court? Phoenix was 31-10 at home this season which is not bad, but it is definently less than stellar. Not that I'm saying it'll be a breeze -- that's just stupid. But it's not like we can't win on the road.

Com'on the Suns played well in stretches but game two was far from close to their best stuff. I saw a lot of areas where the Suns could and probably will adjust for game 3.

Not to mention we are missing our best perimeter defender and outside shooter so far in the playoffs. Of course that is no bonus for us because I don't expect he is coming back for a while.

The Suns missed their 3G shots in crunch time, couldn't close the gap, unlike the first game where Suns hit those 2 late 3Gs to close the gap to one possession.

The Suns win by scoring, not by making stops. If they don't score, they're done.
