If the heat lose, the pistons will cruise to the finals. The heat have to keep the pressure on the pistons.

The Pistons look like a flat team. Inexcusable considering the importance of this game. Dallas matches up real well with the Heat though I hate the players on the Heat.

Are the Pistons coming in as a team that we should just expect to "turn it on" when they feel like it? That never pans out if so. Ask the Colts.

This doesn't have anything to do with Flip Saunders, I mean COME ON!!!

I see some sloppy and very un-smart moves being made, like Rip stopping in the middle of a jumpshot to pass the ball OVER Shaq. I also see the that the Pistons look shocked and feel have to play with some urgency, which never wins games. They've been missing some easy shots and making bone-headed moves. Pistons have to go in the break calm themselves down and play Detroit basketball.

mavsfan1000
05-29-2006, 08:22 PM
In particular Billups was played too much. The point guards wear out the easiest. To me you need a backup point guard to be champions. They had one in Arrojo but now it is all on Billups.

1. Flip played the heart of his rotation way too many minutes in the regular season.

2. Miami is running the same defensive system that the Spurs used to win three titles, and it looks like it may work out for them too.

3. Flip can't figure out how to deal with the middle pick and roll with Wade.

Wow the crowd white out looks cool. I want us to black out the AT&T Center next season.

Black would be a bad marketing gimmick because it will make the stadium look empty on TV. Silver or grey shirts on the other hand, would be a pretty sweet deal for Spurs fans.

I left the country last season the day the ECF started. I predicted Pistons in 7 and Spurs in 6 (off by 1!) and I was dying to see the finals.

Couldn't get the games where I was at but I watched BBC news, where they only reported every other fuckin' game of the finals, and I knew I missed a good one. So selfishly, I wanted to see a rematch this year, but after the Spurs got out, I'd rather see something completely new.

What I think is wrong with the Pistons is the same thing that has been going on with them this season, and last season. The Pistons are a solid team...not a great team. But unfortunately, they don't seem to realize that. It's like what a sports writer said during the Cleveland series. The Pistons are not as good as they THINK they are. And it has shown during the past two seasons in their play. They have come to THINK that they are this offensively diverse team, when that is far from the truth.

They were a lot more dangerous when they accepted that they are a mediocre offensive team, and relied on hustle and defense. And it's like I've said before. It's a lot easier to win a title when no one expects you to win, rather than being the one with a target on your back. Great teams win when everyone is gunning for them.

No. The 1997-1998 Los Angeles Lakers had 4 All Stars, but lost in the WCF 1998 to the Utah Jazz. (Shaq, Kobe Bryant, Eddie Jones, Nick Van Exel)

Well, I havent seen this team dominated in 3 years. They may have ended up losing, but were never dominated.

They are being completely dominated. Its disgusting.

I stopped caring in the Cleveland series because it was obvious the players didnt anymore. So cocky and over-confident, they think because they showed up, they win.

Yeah...whoooops! Bet that Darko pick is looking reeeeeeal good again. CB4? DWade? Nah...take the 7 foot whiteboy who can barely play.

Anyway, I hope the Pistons do themselves a favor and lose it in 5. No reason to make anyone hope you fuckers have any heart whatsoever.

Lakers did not take Detroit seriously. By the time the Lakers decided to play, it was too late.

LA knew SA was for real and that they needed to play at a high level all series to win. Especially after being down 0-2.

I know that had to be a heart-breaker...Im just saying....that Laker team was all-time awesome that decided to sleepwalk thru the Finals. Pistons took full advantage.

Thats what baffles me about this current series....is DWade better than Kobe? Is Shaq 06 better than Shaq 04? Is the rest of the Miami team better than that Lakers squad? No, no and nope.

Whats the difference? My opinion, desire. Detroit has had something to prove every year, except this one. Seems they lack the desire.

I'm with you there. And it's hard to come with the same intensity every year.

That's why I'm not giving up on the Spurs. Say the Mavs win it all this year... that will just make it even tougher for them to win next year. And the Spurs will have something to prove.

Much like the Pistons vs the Heat (if the Pistons lose this series...)

I'm saying Pistons-Suns !!! :lol But that's just my heart.

On the other hand, if I bet (and I don't other than vbookie), then I would certainly not bet on Phoenix and while I have hope for the Pistons, it is a hope mixed with fear.

Phoenix is going back to Dallas down 3-1, with the last game in Dallas, game 5. How are they going to come back down 4-1?

The best they could have done even with a healthy Raja Bell is split the 2 home games and go to Dallas tied 2-2. The Suns will have to play their very best to win game 4 and I don't think that they can do it at all. That leaves them down 3-1 heading to Dallas. Game 5 in Dallas = loss by 30 points. Then, time to join us Spurs fishing without a pole.

Suns without energy < Knicks!!! and that's tough to write and prior to the last 2 games, hard to imagine since the Knicks used to be the worst team in the NBA (now elevated to the second worst team thanks to the effortless Suns). Go Knicks!!!

Go Spurs!!!
Go Pistons!!!

Else,
Go Heat!!!

I meant accomplishment wise. Yes, this team looks very bored and lacksidasical. They worked hard all year for home court and this, THIS is the fucking effort?! A 7-game series with some upstart bullshit Cavs team, into a 3-1 hole against Fat Daddy and Boy Wonder? Pffft...

You know, the Lakers at least had the fucking common sense to not get too full of themselves until after they 3-peated. This Piston team had the audacity after one fucking Championship, 1 game 7 loss for a back-to-back and one great regular season! The Lakers were in their 4th finals in 4 years before they said "Fuck it, lets put it on cruise control, we dont like each other anyway..."

And even worse....The fucking Pistons are acting like the Lakers!

All this blaming between coaches and players, BWallace this, RWallace that, Tayshaun going on about subsitutions, etc. The only person keeping their mouth shut is Rip, and I would too if I were 4-14 from the field and making Zildranisissss Ilgaukaskajasaasss look like Mutumbo having 6 blocks in the first half, 4 of which came on Rip.

Piss poor effort, Piss poor coaching, Piss poor players. Since when did this team devolve to a point where BWallace became a liability? Is that Big Bens fault? I have hard time blaming him.
