St. Paul Pioneer Press (registration required): "Look for the Timberwolves, seeking quickness, to pursue unrestricted free-agent guards Mike James of Toronto and/or Speedy Claxton of Charlotte."

So if that's true, where does that leave Marcus Banks?
And would the Spurs be interested in him as a backup to Parker?

Since when does Speedy play for Charlotte?

Are they just going to eat Hud's contract?

They didn't. He plays with New Orleans/Oklahoma City. He never played with Charlotte.

Claxton will take most of the Wolves MLE. I'd love the Spurs to get Banks to solve their backup PG problems. Parker, Manu, Banks would b=make for a lot of flexibility and match-up problems. I've read reports that Lakers and Cavs are interested in Banks aong with the one report that Spurs had interest.

Unless they can dump his salary via a trade for Marbury, pretty much....... Thanks Flip.

Banks is option 2 over claxton.
Iverson is option 1.
I believe anyway.
Troy is somewhere between that hot dog vender and the Wolves dance team member that i scored with.
In other words he's last.

Surprised you put the dance team member that low. Below the hot dog vendor?

What he wants and what he will get could be two different things. Besides, the MLE for 5 years comes pretty damn close to what he wants.
The Spurs are also crafty about their deals, they could give him a team option after year three that way he could opt out, the Spurs would have his bird rights, and they could re-sign him for more. Problem solved.

you would give him the whole mle for backup point guard?

even if spurs traded nazr for long three or barry
I just do think that giving a backup point the whole mle is smart in a salary cap age

Once a 24 year-old guy starts and plays 30mpg, he rarely wants to go back to 12mpg off the bench.
We have no shot at this guy.

I was talking about Banks. Speedy isn't 24.
But the same applies for Speedy -- if he can start somewhere, he'll do it. It's not like it was his choice to be traded to the Hornets.

I think Banks would get more than 12 minutes a night.
I like the idea of a three man Parker/Ginobili/Banks rotation.

Banks doesn't.

What PG would want to be a backup for Tony when he could be playing 30 minutes a night for some other team? Speedy isn't comming here to backup Tony and play 15 minutes a night. No way. Why spend all that money on a backup PG when we have one of the top 5 PG in the league?
We have a nice backup PG in Beno. Give him a chance. He showed us that he can play, for example his rookie season and when he got a chance this season.

Speedy is destined to be a backup. He's been on four teams and been a backup on all four. Backup to Snow and backup to Parker, two guards that were already in place, but more telling on two teams that either traded for a starting PG, GS and Davis, or drafted a starting PG, NO and Paul. GMs and coaches are trying to tell him something whether he listening or not.

She's able to make passes but not very good at scoring (with me anyway).
So i have to say no for a point guard.
The hot dog vendor loves to serve it up, collect dimes and he's always at the right spot at the right time to do so.

I said the same thing when his name was first brought up a couple of weeks ago.
