HAHAHAHA, Dirk's dick is greater than some two-bit Spurs fan, but whatever.
Anyway, I just finished reading the Suns forums regarding the game. So while the Spurs are whining about the calls in the game tonight, the Suns fans are berating D'Antoni for picking up ANOTHER technical and calling Raja "stupid" for picking up the first one. It's not just one post, there are several posts about these silly technicals picked up by DA/Raja. Funny how some fans don't use the refs as a bailout excuse for why they lost the game. Oh yeah, while some of you spurs fans are busy supporting the Suns, keep this in mind: a funny post on their board game thread: "Are we playing the Spurs?!?!?! We are making ZERO effort on the boards?" :lol
Hilarious. You admire Dirk's area do you? You might want to contact David Hasselhoff because I think he owns that land.

If that's what I think it is: that's Dirk's tactic of picking up his dribble, pumpfaking and getting clipped on the arm while going for a fadeaway... occassionally on one-leg like so. The angle and timing of the photo just makes it look like he's kicking; you could see his feet is well on the side of Marion.
Too bad there's no IQ test for registering at SpursTalk. They could set it at 50 and screen out this nitwit.

I was wondering about the Raja tech myself but according to the recaps he had extra contact on Harris after the foul and seeing as Terry got called pulling the same shit later -- they're even.

I was actually referring to the entire move, as seen during the game and not just the photo. The photo just shows a "still" of it.

I hate that the refs call that crap. I hated it all the years Reggie got away with it. Giving a fouil on that BS makes a joke out of the game. They should just call a foul on the shooter, basically like clearing out with the off arm. That would clean that crap up.

That's not Manu modus operandi. He'll flail with contact, throw his arms up, which Dirk does a hell of a lot more of on offense too but since he plays no D he rarely does it there like Manu does. The Reggie Miller fish for a foul move with the leg has been passed on to _irk althouh you see Kobe and Carter doing it occassionally. But _irk is almost outdoing Reggie with that BS.

I don't know. Most of the time, Dirk just drives without any purpose whatsoever to flail and get the refs to call one. He does get hammered often but he's not as good at getting to the freethrow line to draw fouls as say, AI or Maggette.

The refs made some horrible calls both ways in this game. I was at the game but didn't hear or see what Bell did to draw the technical (OK- I was actually reaching down to move my beer so I wouldn't accidentally spill it). But one tech call didn't win the game for the Mavs.
I just hope that the refs don't materially affect the outcome of the rest of the games in this series- or in the Pistons-Heat series.

Yes that was one where Dirk went to the rim, drew the foul. Keep rolling the TIVO and watch a few seconds later where Duncan goes to the rim with the rebound, gets hack by Dirk from behind. That was going to the rim too.

I have always, always, always, always, always gone for the team from Texas. When UT was playing USC I was convinicing all my Aggie co-workers to be "Texans for a day" and for UT. Most did. I pulled for the Rockets 10 years ago even after they beat the Spurs (though it wasn't enthusiastic). I am always about Texas.
This is the first time I just CAN NOT root for the team from Texas. I just can't. Something about that series just sat wrong with me. It would have been better if the Mavs had just swept us. I could've lived with them being the better team. But you even see it in the Phoenix series. Dallas has really just had one blow-out in the last month against Spurs in Game 2. It seems like Dallas is always getting pulled across the finish line by the refs. All their games are super close yet Dirk always gets a foul call because he's "being aggressive."

To be honest, Cuban is probably the least of it. I've heard him on WOAI basically stating he is intentionally trying to stoke the fires of rivalry.
I just don't really feel Dallas was the better team against us. Because of Games 3 and 4 I felt the Spurs had to win 5 games last series. To be honest I was almost relieved in first half of Game 7 because I thought "Well Mavs are just a better team", like Game 6 vs. Lakers in 03. Leave no doubt when the series ended who was better.
But no, like all during series (i.e., admitted botched tech in Game 3?) refs assisted Dirk again at end of series though the same favor wasn't granted on other end when Tim fouled at very end of regulation because can't end game on foul (except when Bowen called for foul on Dirk with 8 secs left).

Once again as argued before, when are they called. First half free throw doesn't = phantom foul with 8 seconds left 12 feet from basket not driving and or in act of shooting or bogus technicals, etc.
Just like Dampier fouling out doesn't equal Ginobili or Duncan fouling out or Bowen constantly having 5.

I don't expect you to agree but,
I had a friend of a friend (say John) who would always get into a fight with others on the court. He got into it with a couple of co-workers I brought, then a month later he fist fought with a friend of another player and on and on for a few months. My first friend would always blame the other guys and I told him "Are all these other people who have no relation to each other wrong or is John wrong?" There's a pattern there.
Anyone who isn't a Mavs fan saw what was happening. Barkley said it, Skip Bayless wrote a long article on the bad officiating in that series and basically guaranteed a Mavs win because he saw what was happening. Heck even fans of arch-rival Lakers and Houston in their chat rooms were quoted as saying we were getting jobbed. But I know you can't agree.
There are usually no set rules of good art. Most people just know it when they see it. Most saw the bad officiating in Mavs-Spurs series.

I think a lot of you are feeding the trolls by continuing to argue with them about calls. They're convinced that the Mavericks are vastly superior to the Spurs, that Dirk Nowitzki is the toughest sob in the NBA and that this is the beginning of a Dallas dynasty; you're convinced that the Spurs got screwed and were actually the better team. You're not going to change their minds about those things, just as they won't change yours.
My suggestion to frustrated Spurs fans is to let it go. Root against the Mavericks if you so choose, but understand that the expression of your frustration will only encourage the Maverick trolls to relish in your disappointment further and continue to call you the very names that they rightly earned for themselves between 2001 and 2005. If you're cool with feeding them that satisfaction, keep arguing; if you'd rather that they don't troll around here any more, let it go.

But:
1. I know the Mavs aren't "vastly superior" to the Spurs. The series could've gone either way.
2. I know Dirk isn't the toughest SOB around, but I also know that most Spurs fans completely under-rate him and talk unnecessary trash about his game. I'm sure if he was a Spur they'd love him.
3. The Mavs are a team on the rise...lots of young players. I also know that the Spurs will flip their bench and be better next season too though. I can't wait for '07 either...

Are you kidding me? If Satan played the post, he would get the benefit of the doubt on foul calls. When you are a post player, you get fouled...ALOT. Diop and Dampier are clumsy post defenders, and duncan moves well (hello that is his forte? anyone who watches basketball will tell you this) clumsy vs finesse = a lot of fouls.

The same group of whiners is at it again. How worn out are your 'r' 'e' 'f' and 's' keys right now? Fishing is supposed to be fun. I could understand your complaints while your team was ACTUALLY PLAYING, but to still be complaining now? Pathetic. At least a couple Spurs fans are keeping it real.

Wouldn't it be fresher to come up with your own monniker? I mean, I'd think Mavs fans would be embarrassed to have to co-opt something like a motto from us lowly, whining Spurs fans.
:fro
Nah, I figure the Mavs can get 3 rings out of it...it worked here right!!?? :fro

:lol :angel come on more than half the spurs fans here still whine about the refs and now claim the mavs are favoured by the NBA.
the Mavs are the best in the West why cant anyone here admit that?
Get your facts straight, junior. ONE person said the NBA favors the Mavs, not half the Spurs fans. Why troll around on the Spurs board? If the Martin-led Noogies have a board, why not take your pretty little self over there?

yeh im the guy who did it? :rolleyes
way too generalise all fans. If i generalised all spurs fans id say they were all whiners but i know thats just a group of them here
Maybe basketball is not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest.

Mavs fans have every right to be here, half of the threads have to do with the team or cuban and they are all started by bitter spurs fans. We know yall want us here, or else you wouldn't contiuosly start arguements with us and try to prove points that make no sense.
I knew a guy named Leonard once. He's in jail now because he broke into a cop's house and tried to steal his TV.

Wow, you get it... :fro
But:
Wow. I actually agree 100%. 2007 will bring the NBA Champion Mavs and the 3-time Champion Spurs together for the best WCF this nation has ever seen.
And may the best team win.
(That would be the Spurs, of course) :king

What did Raja Bell do? Can someone plz answer this?
After the foul was called, he gave a little extra shove while he was in the air. It was pretty lame considering all the other contact that goes on. It was the turning point in the game with just a one-point game at the time. Dirk at the line doing what he does best.

So, anyway, I've got this mod chip in my Xbox that lets me play burned games. It's actually pretty sweet. Burning a copy of "Rogue Trooper" this afternoon, based on some British comic book. Anyone play it?

Tim Duncan had 90 free throws, Dirk had 80 in the series. How the fuck is dirk going to the line more than duncan?
Maybe b/c Tim's getting shoved by 7 footers from 5 feet from the basket while Dirk was getting touched by 6 footers from 15 feet from the basket. Beleive it or not, the difference should've been greater between the two players during the series as in Dirk should've had fewer free throws than he had.

It's funny. I actually dislike the Suns more than the Mav's, but the Suns are getting jobbed worse than the Spurs. I guess its time to jump on the band wagon. Go Zebras!

It's sad that Spurs fans, NOT Suns fans, are complaining about the officiating in the WCF this year. You should frequent some Suns boards sometime, they blame D'Antoni for picking the second technical and Raja for getting the first and not contributing last game. They actually break down the game pretty well compared to SOME Spurs fans who just obsess over the officiating.
