Free agent Marcus Banks won't play for the Wolves in the Las Vegas summer tournament, an indication the point guard won't be easy for the Wolves to re-sign.http://www.startribune.com/507/story/468592.html

Banks wants $. PGs are a difficult commodity to come by and he'll get paid, likely overpaid.

I see someone like Atlanta throwing crazy money at him.

He's too good/experienced to be playing in summer league anyways. I highly doubt the Spurs could get him unless they put aside the MLE for him.

There are four proven PGs that are unrestricted FAs Cassell, Mike James, Terry, Claxton and a moderately proven PG in Banks.

There are a number of teams looking for a starting quality PG including Atlanta, Cleveland, Houston, possibly Indianna, the Lakers, Minessotta if they lose Banks, Toronto. Even NY has talked about targeting Claxton. Some of the available PGs like Cassell and Terry will likely resign with their teams. A few teams may fill PG needs with trades. That still leaves very slim pickings for teams like the Spurs looking for a backup.

Cassell sucks.
Yeah, he was really holding the Clippers back this year.

Why would Banks need to go to the summer league camp? Dude is too good a player for that.

Not when he's going to have to worry about his stock dropping, hurting himself.
