Do you think big ben will still sign with the pistons if he knows flip will be back next year, i think he might look at other teams more seriously now.

"Show me the money."

Possibly sign and trade if some team wants make a huge splash.

I think Ben knows this organization is (or was) defense first, and playing next to Tim would be the greatest thing ever. We'd have Tim, Ben, and Bruce...greatest defense team EVER. He would get another ring if he came here. I'm sure as hell he'd rather play for Pop than Flip...

But it won't happen.

The funny thing about championship teams is that they always manage to produce overrated players.

Another offensively inept player in the Spurs lineup? Are you sure that you want that?

Nazr for Ben straight up. The money works. The contract works. Everybody's happy. Let's get it done.

Nazr has been the missing piece for the pistons all season. Imagined if they had Nazr in game 6. WHAOOOO! Dumars was a teammate of Isiah, you know.

Piston's will not offer Ben the max but some team probably will. I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone. (Although I'm not easily surprised)

I'm not so sure that Ben's main concern is money. I'm sure he cares more about winning.

if he was willing to take a paycut he'd stay in Detroit.

Right now he's looking for a big payday and i don't think the pistons would jeopardise their future by obliging.
The should do a S & T for some younger talent and a deeper team.

Ben Wallace as our center would kick ass. And his FT % fits right in. But we still need to make up for our offensive liabilities at the 5 and 3. So I don't know, it'd help a lot on the defensive end but other than that what else is there.

What cost the Spurs against Dallas in the playoffs wasn't offense, IMO. I'm not sure why anyone would say that it was.

It was a matter of being beaten badly on the glass, stemming from an inability to keep 2 bigs on the floor because of the lack of an athletic 2nd big (that, or Pop's unwillingness to stray from a belief that he needed an athletic 2nd big).

I'm not sure that the Spurs need to find a great deal more offense to get over the hump again. They need to find just a bit more defensive flexibility and a whole lot more rebounding. Ben Wallace would be a wonderful (perfect?) addition to cure those ailments.

Unfortunately for the Spurs, unless Ben decides he's willing to sign for less than market value to play for a contender, he's not coming here.

Wallace and Chandler on the Bulls together would be something. That would be the best defensive/worst offensive combo ever to take the court.

Wallace was right to be concerned about his team's lackadaiscal effort. At least our Elimination wasn't so anticlimactic, It just came down to the result that one great team has to lose, while the other moves on. Detroit got their asses beat and didn't really play their best in enough time.

I guess we really don't need an offensive force at the 5 and 3, just long rebounding athletics. It'd be a nice bonus though, so that we're the ones where the team has to adjust to us. An athlete like Diaw comes to mind.

With regard to ponky's sig, do you really thing Eva would go for Josh Howard's stupid Starvin' Marvin face? Yeah, neither do I.

Besides, I don't think "JHo" is even on the market right now...

I'm pretty sure everybody knows where my heart is at," Wallace said in Miami after Game 6.

In Detroit, he was asked?

"It's in my chest," Wallace responded coyly.

Again it is a nice dream to have Wallace next to Tim an Bruce but I really doubt Ben really considers the Spurs... leaving Detroit? Maybe. Leaving for SA... Uhm..No. It would be awesome but it won't happen.

Although I would love to see him here, I beleive that to be highly unlikely. I am by no means a Lakers fan but I think he would be a good fit. They need a good defender and rebounder.

Joe Dumars is on the record saying that Flip will definitely be back next season. If Ben really can't stand Flip, Joe will have a difficult choice to make.. the Pistons won't be the same without Ben.. he defines that team's character.

If Ben went to the Spurs, we'd have the lowest free throw percentage in NBA History.

Joe just said flat out he's gonna give him a "fair offer". Something that's good for Ben and good for the Pistons. He isn't going to cripple the franchise just to bring him back. Especially considering Ben is no longer a dominant player, and his impact has been steadily declining for a few years now. Joe would rather bring in a guy who won't force us to play 4-on-5 on offense and lose a some D than kill the future.

Just look at the way the NBA rules are going. It's getting tougher and tougher to play "great" defense, and it's getting harder and harder to continue playing with a non offensive player in the lineup. Joe's just adapting to the "New NBA".

Ben Wallace was the centerpiece to the defense around here two years before he won a Championship.

Re-signed Nazr, Brent Barry, and Beno for Ben Wallace and a 1st rounder.

The Spurs would be the best defensive team ever, and I wouldn't have to watch Flip Saunders utilize him like he's a role player. The Pistons get a center that can be exactly what Flip wants him to be, gets a productive scorer/distributor without much money left on his contract to play off the bench alongside Antonio McDyess, and a project in Beno.

PG: Chauncey Billups / Brent Barry / Beno Udrih
SG: Rip Hamilton / Brent Barry / Carlos Delfino
SF: Tayshaun Prince / Carlos Delfino / Brent Barry / Mo Evans
PF: Rasheed Wallace / Antonio McDyess
C: Nazr Mohammad / Dale Davis.

Plus, there's still the MLE to add another piece. I can't believe I'm entertainig a trade of Ben Wallace.

Nazr has the body but there is something missing...

You know.. eye of the tiger... eagle claw... something... Human highlight reel etc..

We need that "spark"... from a center.. something... Everytime I watched Nazr play it was like watching a robot that was "ho hum".. good but not excellent...
