Does anyone believe this bullshit? :lol

Had the same thought. Total BS. And how about Bavetta doing jumping jacks when Collins, Marv and Kerr were doing their schtick. He knew the camera was right on him. . .

I missed Sager.. what did he say?

Aggie Hoopsfan
06-03-2006, 07:54 PM
He said that Bob Delaney (ref) was beside him on the plane to Phoenix and was watching tape in fast forward of the game.

He said the reason the refs watch the game in fast forward is because it trains their eye muscles to work faster and see things happening in the faster pace of the games.

Aggie Hoopsfan

Actually, on second thought, that probably explains why the refs suck so much ass. They anticipate everything before it happens :lol

I've never heard that. Interesting.

You've never heard of it because it's a load of crap.

I thought I heard him say the refs basically see everything in slow motion because of this work... which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard! :lol

Seriously, this isn't the fucking Matrix...

Out of curiosity, what credentials do you have?

What credentials does Craig Sager have? Last I checked sports medicine docs weren't strapping players everywhere into chairs to watch games in fast forward so they could slow down the real thing...

I used the same technique for porn in order to prevent premature evacuation, but just ended up legally blind.

More credentials and connections than internet message board guy.

Because sitting next to a ref on a plane that you subsequently bug the shit out of = credentials. :lol

Like I said, I don't see sports medicine docs, team trainers, etc., strapping the players into chairs, tapeing their eyes open, and making them watch 24 hours of game film in fast forward to 'slow the game down in real time'.

That says all that needs to be said about credibility, King.

Craig just caught a ref rushing through his homework and bought the ref's lame excuse.

That's got to be harder for the older officials, though. Some of them might find it a bit confusing. :lol

I didn't buy anything, nor did I discount anything. I've heard of far more ridiculous things than watching a game in fast forward, so I didn't think anything of it one way or another. I just think it's hilarious that you think you have more insight than a guy who is around what he's around for a living.

You're a schmuck on a message board. So am I, but at least I realize that.

Craig Sager is a fucking moron anyway. Most of what he spouts is either obvious as hell or completely incorrect, and the way he talks about basketball he seems to have little clue what's going on most of the time. Not only that, but he often asks the players stupid and/or insulting questions, and guys like Nash and Duncan give him short shrift because of it (and rightly so).

I'll take AHF's cred over Sagerwanker's any day!

Nothing is as bad as Bill Simmons Page 2 column, hereby entitled, Dirk is the second coming of Michael and Cuban is signing my paycheck, but you didn't hear that from me. I swear to god that shitface is the biggest Mavs homer in the world, and he puts some of the retards we get here to shame with his closet homerism. Whatever happened to media bias.

:lol

A sideline reporter caught a ref fast forwarding through his homework, called the ref on it, and bought some gay ass excuse from said ref about it.

The guy even had a diagram of the muscles of the human eye for crying out loud.

Sager is just like Stephen A. Smith - a blowhard NBA press guy who thinks he has the inside scoop but in reality doesn't know shit about what's going on.

The really sad part about it is that he's a Celtics fan and he all but called Dirk the second coming of Bird, for god's sake.

Craig was nice enough to take a picture with me at the jam session this year, so cut him some slack...maybe just a little.
