So I get back from lunch at 1:30pm, park the car and go into the office. Leave at 5:30pm and my driver's side window is completely smashed, glass everywhere. Fucking losers not only stole a crummy-ass stereo, but they had to ruin part of the dash to do it. Clearly amateurs, they cut themselves and bled on the trunk of the car. Unfortunately, the cops can't go all CSI unless I want to pay for it. The idiot thieves stole two cd cases that had nothing but mix cd's in them - try selling those, you asshats. Also, they were too fucking stupid to open the little compartment between the front seats that had about $50 worth of quarters that I forgot to take out over the weekend.

On a lighter note, the window was tinted, so it was mostly intact and lying by the car. I still had to pick it up and throw it away though and I didn't want to cut my hands on the little shards of glass, so I looked around for something to pick it up with and found my AT&T Center/Go Spurs Go towel in the back seat. They may have lost in the second round, but they saved my hands. :flag:

They also left a handprint, but it was the side of the palm and nothing they could get anything from. If they get $10 for that stereo, I would be surprised. They clearly already have a severely shitty life if they were willing to do bust into my car and get pretty much nothing, plus getting cut on top of it.

I had a similar thing happen this weekend while taking my daughter to a birthday party at a (similar to) Chuck E Cheese type of place in AZ. Came out of the party to see my car was on the bad end of a hit and run, and my back bumper is all smashed up.

Of course, nobody saw nothin'...

Back in '93 I had a similar thing happen to me.
I used to live in a gated community, and the "houses" (they were all pretty much mobile home type things) were essentially right on top or one another with small parking spots interspersed here and there.
I go out to my truck one morning, and my passenger side window is smashed out. The jack offs didn't take anything (and there was a full tape case, a Levis jacket, some map books and other things in there of some value and use), but the fact that it happened pissed me off. A few months later, it happened again! Same thing; nothing taken, but someone or a few people had to be dicks and bust my window. I really don't know what aggrivated me more: having it happen twice or having it happen in an alleged secure area, designed to keep the riff-raff out.
Anyway, good luck in your situation. All things considered, it probably could've been a lot worse. :wtf

Parking lot downtown outside of work. All in all, they did about $1,000 worth of damage to the car, got about $200 worth of music CDs and about $15,000 worth of stock photography CDs, which they probably threw away.

Sry to hear about that, SC ... I had the same thing happen to me in December, in front of my apartment. About a week before Christmas, this asshat broke into my car and stole 5 jackets and the wooden Santa I got my stepmom for X-Mas ... He left my CDs, money and knife alone ... Took my leather jacket, rain jacket, ex's letter jacket, some POS Old Navy jacket and my dad's Million Mile away for when he was a trucker with Haliburton ... Since it's a one of a kind jacket, I feel REALLY bad for the next person I seeing it ...

i had my blazer broken into twice. the first time it happened they smashed my drivers side window to press the rear hatch release. it sucked, but at least i only had to replace the drivers side window instead of the expensive rear glass w/defroster. they made off with my 12" subs in a box from the back, but they were dead anyway.
