View Full Version : Worst Birthdate?

Since there are women who were induced early the past couple of days to avoid delivering a newborn on 06-06-06, the radio station this morning was asking what the worst birthdate would be.

Popular choices include:

Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
Valentine's Day
April Fool's Day
Fourth of July

Comments? My BIL's birthday is Christmas Eve, but his family always made a special effort to celebrate that before Christmas or after, so it didn't get lost in the holidays. I think April Fool's Day would be a great birthday, but in a book I recently read, the main character was horrified that she was giving birth on April Fool's Day and slipped a nurse a $50 to lie on the birth certificate and say her daughter was born at 12:02 am April 2.

I'm gonna go with Christmas/Christmas Eve... just because your family would try to smush the 2 together... I'm glad my birthday is in May so that the gifts get spread out a bit more :elephant

My husband's birthday is December 31st. New Year's Eve. His sister's is April Fool's Day. That family seems to have a thing for holidays...

Mine is 12/28, which is bad enough. Everyone is so caught up in being broke after Christmas and getting ready for New Year's, that there's actually been 3 birthdays in my lifetime that everyone (parents and best friend included) forgot. I'd usually just get one *big* gift for Christmas/Birthday and a Christmas card with "Happy Birthday" written in it, yet my brother (10/24) always got 1 good one for each. So I learned to accept it and quit giving a damn about it.

Now that I'm over 30, I'm happy when it's forgotten.

Today by far would be the worst birthday. I was just telling my sister how glad I was that there is no way I could have a baby today.

mine is 3/15, and that spooks the few people who do recognize the ides of march. doesn't bother me though. it's always weird to get carded and have someone mention it.

OH! One of the professors here is a Feb 29. She said the only time it was an issue (she normally celebrates on the 2/28, for convenience) was when she turned 21, because they went bar hopping and one bouncer was convinced her license was a fake ID and tried to confiscate it, but the manager gave it back after examining it.

My mom's birthday falls on Thanksgiving most years - actually, I think she likes it because it's not a holiday you usually get gifts on, so she gets the awesome dinner, the whole family together, and presents.

I'm December 30, and it used to bug me having a birthday falling that close to Christmas, but I don't really care anymore. What sucks about it though is that you get all your gifts for the year in like a week - my late grandfather kicked ass, he used to save his present for me until June 30th on my half birthday :)

My uncle used to tell my mom "you're child's going to be born on the 6th of June and he's going to have the Mark of the Beast on him!"

And then I was born on the 6th.

And they really did check me for 6's. :depressed

My husband and I are one month apart (3/4, 4/4) and we picked our anniversary for that reason, six months away, not near any gift giving occasions . . .

My sister got married on Dec 21, and she and her husband never get each other separate gifts, they always get smushed despite their best intentions (or worse, forgone, because they've overspent on Christmas gifts).

April 15th isn't a day most people want to celebrate on. And if that weren't bad enough that's also the day that Abe Lincoln got shot.

I'd have to agree with the Feb 29th Birthday. That would suck big time.

I knew a girl in HS who was born on leap year. She liked it, cus the day her birthday actually landed on, her parents really went all out. So she had a badass party every 4 years. The rest of the time she got to choose to celebrate on the 28th or March 1. She loved it, made her very unique. I think I might like it too, to be honest.

Same here, but I like it. I always thought it was kind of cool except when people think they are always the first person ever in the history of the world to make a joke about your birthday being on the Ides of March. OOOHHH BEWARE :rolleyes :rolleyes

Here I was thinking I was going to be all clever by coming up with Feb. 29 and throwing in some joke about my wife only being 6, but I'm about 5 hours too late.

Damn you people and your quick wits.
