A 7-year-old girl was found home alone by a landlord, who says the girl was in a haze of marijuana smoke. The child's mother remained in jail Wednesday.
The landlord said she found the girl Monday at the house in the 7600 block of Glen Falls on the northeast side.
"I came over to serve an eviction notice because the tenant is going on three months behind on rent," landlord Greta Dominguez said.
When Dominguez arrived, she said she smelled trouble.
"I was inundated by pot smoke," she said.
Dominguez said she then saw the 7-year-old in a daze on a couch, alone in the house.
"She was watching TV," Dominguez said of the girl, "but she was just really mellow."
Dominguez called the Bexar County Sheriff's Office. They searched the house and found marijuana inside. Deputies said the questioned the little girl, and she said her mother was at work.
Deputies waited at the home for the girl's mother. She returned later in the day.
Thirty-year-old Tameka Woods is in jail on child abandonment and drug charges. The little girl is reportedly staying with other family members.
"I'm hoping she wasn't the one smoking it," Dominguez said of the girl, "because at seven years old, if she's already doing that, she's headed down a really bad path."
It is unclear if that little girl actually smoked any marijuana.
***What wasn't mentioned was any prescence of Hendrix playing in the background.***
