Okay I thought I had heard everything until last night. A caller called into JT The Brick's show and said that Manu was the devil and it was his fault that the Spurs are not in the Finals.
Of all the things to equate Manu with, this so-called Spurs fan called him the Anti Christ??? Jeez!! Some people are taking this sports thing way to dayum serious. I don't care if it was 06-06-06 yesterday. Manu was just a part of the problem the Spurs had. As a team they just didn't get the job done.
But to call him one of the most vile things you can call a human being? That so-called Spurs fan should be banned from even claiming he's such a loyal fan to the silver and black.

As long as S.A. loves Manu, as long as the fans are behind him, as long as he's healthy and will be working hard this summer to get back to them to help Duncan for our 4th championship next season Manu will still be a HERO to us.

Cherry that was a great coach after game five and game six but in game seven, it's not about competition; it's about being smart and listening to the coaching staff.
Manu knew he fucked up and he over compensated badly at the end of regulation. Plain and simple. there are no excuses for not listening to what your coach is telling you and to be frank about the situation; it was a bonehead play on his part. 10 year olds playing in the CYO know how to do math and figure out what's a better decision maker.
I like Manu but I ain't cutting him no slack for fucking up at a crucial point of the game. There are no excuses for championship caliber teams.

you are right, read the Manu post:
What I accept is that I shouldn't have committed the foul on DN when there were 21 seconds left and we were winning 104 to 101. With these two points plus the free throw being my fault, they tied and we went into overtime. It made me angry and bothered me more than the shot I missed in the last second. The ball could have gone in or not. Having it go in or no is relative, but I shouldn't have committed that foul.
It hurts but, get over it. Manu feels hurt too but he can sleep all night because he don't intend to carry this feeling around during the off-season either.

Poor Manu, that had to be the dumbest move in game 7 history. How do you even touch a guy going to the hole? He shoulda just let him have the easy 2, then you're still up 1 with the ball, maybe he was worried about the Spurs collective crappy free throw shooting? Crazy!

:madrun Whoever made that call and made that comment is a friggin' idiot. Manu is a vital part of the Spurs scheme of things. He just made a mistake at the end of regulation. To say that it was his fault that the Spurs didn't make the finals shows how ignorant the caller is. We were overtime away from advancing. It's just that Dallas really showed unbelievable desire to win the game.

You they are forgetting that the one that put the team ahead by three was Manu, with a worthy triple of Big Shot Bob, a play of Manu before, gave the advantage of 3, Bowen did not make the best defensive play when letting to Dirk arrive until the hoop, and Manu to try to help committed an error committing the foul

although I agree about the three I do not agree with the rest. The reason Bowen let him get to the hoop is because he did want to risk getting the foul, since POP said "do not foul". Manu trying to help was not a good thing, it was the mistake.

The Spurs themselves are the devil. If Terry doesn't get suspended maybe they win in Game 6? If the Spurs played better basketball in game 2 maybe they win the series in 6 games or less?
The Spurs defense in general was the devil. They should have overcome the mismatches and capitlize on their mismatches like Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili. Since when did Dirk and 4-5 athletic guys happen to overcome the Spurs defense AND their own big three? Everyone is to blame. Duncan probably deserves the least amount of blame since he was the best player in the series.
But everyone else down the line deserves a chunk of blame for this series loss and general piss poor play at times (especially Game 2). Manu I feel was the best player in the series by a decent margin aside from Duncan and Dirk. So it is kind of hard to pin everything on him despite the horrible error he made.

Like Nikos said, it should never have come down to a 3-point play in the final seconds of a Game 7 on our court. So it wasn't just Manu who contributed to the loss. Hell, he's the main reason we were even in the game at that point. Not having a center who knew how to play basketball, Tony's injuries, Duncan being out of gas at that point, Pop refusing to even experiment with a tall-ball line-up--all of these things were factors in that game. The responsibility for the loss shouldn't be pinned on Manu's shoulders alone.
Plus, if you're a fan, you support your team and your players through the good times and the bad, not just when they're flying high and scoring at will.

Valluco...what I'm talking about is the comeback itself. Buddy and Gilbride's spat cost the Oilers their only chance at even getting into the superbowl.
Reich's ability not withstanding, we all know damn well that if the Oilers' defense did what they were supposed to do, Buffalo wouldn't have gone any further. that was an ass whooping of magninumous proportions.
with taht said, my reference was to the melt down that Houston had; not Frank Reich.
