View Full Version : Anyone else notice Bush flip-flopping

Bush has been flip-flopping each debate by trying out different—though unsuccessful—attack tactics?

The first debate gave us the "Bush caught in the headlights" look.

The second gave us the "Bush home town boy" look.

The third gave us the "Bush on the defenseive" look.

Kerry has been the more consistent of the candidates and isn't that what you conservatives accuse Kerry of not being?

The 3rd debate was Bush delivering a solid asskicking to Kerry.

You are right, Kerry has been consistently dull when he has been explaining how we must allow Mother Government into every aspect of our lives.

Answer the question Marcus.
Has not Bush been changing every debate?
And Kerry kicked ass on Bush as well.
I think it was a tie but I gave the edge to Kerry.

Yes Kerry is a great speaker, and a great debater.. isn't that what attorneys are trained for?

I sure hope people are judging these debates more on content than on what the president "looks like".

I answered your question.

They should.
Kerry had much more content than Bush did.
All Bush could say about the jobs lost is talk about "education"

CNN's instant poll showed that by 52 to 39 percent, Americans thought John Kerry won the third and final debate with George W. Bush last night on domestic issues. When CNN's sample, half Republicans and half Democrats, were asked "Which candidate agrees more with me on issues?" the same percentage said Kerry.
And this is clearly because Kerry made better points—in a more effective way—on health care, jobs and outsourcing, education, the federal budget, abortion rights and all the other issues presented through questions from CBS's Bob Schieffer.

Sure, most people like the notion of something for nothing.

Looks like you're looking for something from nothing from Bush's debate results.

Johnny we must not have watched the same debate..

in a world economy some jobs are going to migrate to other countries because it is simply not economically feasible for a company to pay 10X the "world" rate for low skilled jobs that can be done elsewhere...and both candidates clearly admitted this...

the question then becomes what to do with these people that become unemployed because of it...and the only thing you can do is teach them the skills they need to do a job that WON'T move offshore...and this requires what?

duhhh...additional education...

as to the "low paying jobs" charge...the answer to that one comes down to individual choice and education as well...these stupid fucks that don't think it is important to learn basic math and reading and writing skills are CHOOSING to live their lives in low paying jobs...even in the WORST schools the opportunity is there to learn if a student wants to...

What to do about terrorists?

Bush: We need to actively pursue them where ever they may be.

Kerry: I have a plan.

What to do about homeland security?

Bush: We need to strengthen our borders and give the right tools to law enforcement.

Kerry: I have a plan.

Where will we get the funding for the upcoming budget?

Bush: We will make necessary cuts in spending and reduce the size of the goverment.

Kerry: I have a plan.

How can we reduce the number of unemployed people in the US?

Bush: We must educate them for the types of jobs that will not be lost over seas.

Kerry: I have a plan.

Show me a manager or corporation who stubbornly pays an American $54 an hour to program when they can get it for $12 an hour in India and I'll show you a corporation/manager who won't be in business much longer.

How Kerry plans to change that reality is beyond me. Go ahead and raise minimum wage, companies will just fire x number of employees to keep their budget in line and raise expectations of their workers.

They'll need to start offering college courses in multi-tasking for those not too damn lazy to help themselves.

Probably remove corporate tax breaks for those that outsource.

Yes, and help put those bad boys and all their employees on the unemployment line that much quicker...

Forget outsourcing, they'll just pick up and move base of ops elsewhere.

Corporations will find another way to deal with those "loopholes". Be it raise prices on you and me, tell their secretaries making $20 an hour they're going to be making $10, etc.

CO - You think they'll move the whole corporation to Bangalore? They'd better be ready to hire a whole new executive board, then, as well as HR staff, etc. Those folks want to live in the US, not some third world shithole, which is what 95% of India remains. Europe taxes even higher than our non-tax break rate.

Bush had to change his style and learned from his prior debates.
He should adapt this strategy on other policies such as Iraq, jobs, health care, etc.
Learn and "change the course" if necessary.
So what if some will call you out as a flip-flopper.
He himself said he doesn't worry about what other people think.

Today's attacks in the Green Zone make the claims by the White House that the situation in Iraq is improving, precarious at best.

It'll cost us a lot more if he gets elected, given his past stances national defense.

I went to watch one of my sons give a stump speech (5th grade student council) and heard one of his classmates give a speech that used the phrase "I have a plan" no less than 15 times.

Damn, even 5th graders are on to him...
