The 76ers are looking to trade him. would this work? they 76ers need someone who is a solid shooter to go along with korver and AI. throw in rasho to replace Dalembert.

Dalembert isn't a better player than Rasho or Nazr.

Ugh... his contract is worse than Rasho's and Barry's combined... here's what's left of it (http://hoopshype.com/salaries/philadelphia.htm):

2006/07 - $8,840,000
2007/08 - $9,680,000
2008/09 - $10,520,000
2009/10 - $11,360,000
2010/11 - $12,200,000
I'm guessing Holt wouldn't be thrilled about it...

That's not worse than Rasho and Barry's combined, but it sucks. Rasho and Barry combined is over 11M for 06-07. :vomit:

A lot better than what we have now.

Dalembert challenges every shot, sure, he'll get a lot of goaltends, but he blocks a lot too.

I'd take Dalembert over Rasho or no hands Nazr.

Dude got beat out by Steven Hunter!

Still, if I thought Pop would play him 30mpg I'd consider it.

:tu I agree completely. A physical presence...a little far in his career I believe to still be considered a "project" but the dude is pretty raw.

I meant in the long run. Barry has only 2 years left, and Rasho has 3, compared to Dalembert's 5. If you consider the whole extension of the contracts, you get:

Rasho ($7,280,000 + $7,840,000 + $8,400,000) + Barry ($5,117,880 + $5,554,370) = $34,192,250 over 3 years for 2 players.
Dalembert ($8,840,000 + $9,680,000 + $10,520,000 + $11,360,000 + $12,200,000) = $52,600,000 over 5 years for 1 player.

I'd much rather have scenario no. 1, than scenario no. 2.

If you thought Nazr was dumb defensively, Dalembert would make him look like David Robinson. I've never seen a player out of position as much on defense as Dalembert is. His coaches and teammates kill him about it, but he never knows WTF he's doing defensively.

Why even consider this?

Dalembert is making a lot.

He's been dissapointing in Philly. I'm not sure I would do that deal... but he is a nice shot-blocker...overpaid though. I don't know on this one, it's tough. He could just turn out to be another Rasho.

LJ summed it up; Pop would never play him anywhere near the time necessary to justify the cost. I know it's easy to put a premium on hops, but a guy has to know how to play to be a Spur.

Dalembert looks just as lost as Nazr at times.

His hands arent' that great.

...and he's over-paid. That said, I would still consider taking him. He's a very nice shot-blocker & finisher around the rim.

It's awful when a team bids against itself to give a guy like Dalembert the max.

And it's even worse when Dalembert sets the market value for your own RFA... just ask John Paxson... :lol

He had that contract because of the way he played (very, very well) in the play off against the Pistons.
He's still young, so if our staff thinks there's room for improve his techical skills (I don't know about his attitude, but I've heard nothing wrong) , I'd take that trade.

Joey Pryz is a shot blocker as well, why trade for such an overrated player as Dalembert? And I'm not a fan of Pryz at all.I'd rather give Javtokas a chance.

Here's another trade I'd love : (highly impossible though)
Nazr(S&T) + Rasho to Bobcats for Brezec + Gerald Wallace + Brevin Knight
I guess a few scrubs might be needed to match the salaries. And some picks to sweeten it.

That would be awesome but unfortunately Isiah Thomas isn't Bobcats GM :)
We'd get a decent center, a back up PG and a great Bowen successor.
Oh well, I could at least dream...

Brezec sucks in defense, and he is not strong. Wallace and Knight would be good.

He seems a little uninterested at times.

But he's not a cancer or anything.
