Someone with some smarts tell me how this works.
The little cone things in your eyes that detect color get sort of stuck when you stare at something for a long time so that you see the opposite colors when you look away.

I have no idea how it works, but I can show you another crazy optical illusion.

Believe it or not, the center of each cross is the EXACT same colour. If you don't believe me, play around with it in paint...:elephant

Yes, it's normal. Anytime you move your mouse over the image after initially moving it off...the castle will show up in photo-quality color. No matter how long you've been staring at it or not.

Photo quality color? Or photo quality black & white? You are not seeing the picture correctly if you aren't following the directions.

Just the mouse-over isn't the illusion.
