Do you think Ian Mahinmi can be a decent starting center. Will we give him a chance?

Maybe in several years. Not now.

Not this year, but we should definitely look at him as soon as we lose either Javtokas or Wallace(assuming they both come over.) Oberto will always be third string center as long as he is a Spur.

My thoughts exactly. Depending on his progress it could be from 2-4 years before we bring him in... if at all.

Mahinmi to me doesn't look like he has the frame to add a whole lot of weight. I'm guessing 240 lbs tops, but just a guess.

T-Rex should start

the league is rigged so that rookies get no calls and get fouled out like every game and get no respect so that it takes 15years more or less before they can become an effective(and less foul prone) player.
Because it couldn't simply be that there's a lot of footwork and technique to learn in the NBA, and veterans know more tricks than rookies.

Not to mention learning the referees and what they look at, what they consider fouls, and what they let go.

I think Mahinmi's in SA in 2007. Not as a starter, but I don't believe the Spurs are going to wait that long to bring him over.

javtokas looks like he has that starting spot,

duncan/orbs/javtokas will play time there.

problem is with nazr atm, if he leaves then we only have 2 guyz who actually rebounds.

we mite need another backup big man this season if we arent bringin over scola n ian

I don't think the Spurs can afford not to bring Ian over.

Screw him anyway, I knew he was dirty before the junk grabbing. I don't want to win with blatant cheating and pushing.

Ian will play next year and contribute. He might not be able to weigh over 240, but that hasnt stopped Garnett, and many other players from being great. Look at Lemarcus Aldridge next year, and he is going to be a top 3 pick

The espn insider says the Spurs might be interested in Dalembert. He es tall, a good rebounder and good shot blocker... but isn't he way too expensive? I heard he makes a lot of money...

I am going to think we won't get him. But anything is possible

The Spurs will bring in Mahinmi only when they think he'll be productive. No sense in sitting him deep on the bench, calcifying, while starting him very early on the gradated NBA pay scale. Start his rookie salary when he's ready to be a rookie, no sooner.
