Four players have won an NCAA championship one year, then an NBA championship the next. Name them.

Magic = Buck.

Russell is also correct. Two more.

Magic?
Penetrating the lane like a bullet train
Comes the Magic blood a telepathic brain
Knucklehead suckers better duck
When the Buck comes through like a truck

I'm going to guess they played for the lakers or celtics(though with my luck, even that attempt to be clever will be wrong)

I thought it was someone from the '83 sixers. Did Indiana win the championship in '82?

EDIT: It was Bobby Jones I was thinking of, and he went to UNC, not Indiana.

Indiana has never won a NBA championship. They may have won an ABA championship, but I don't know. '83 Sixers team had mostly vets (Dr. J, Malone, Jones, Cheeks, etc.) so if someone won a NCAA title the year before they certainly didn't get much playing time on that Sixer's team.

Magic definitely did it.

I think he meant IU, not the pacers.

Sorry, I meant the Hoosiers, not the Pacers.

As Shoogar said when he moved the trivia to the main forum...there's pretty much only Mavsfans in here and thus the responses will be stupid...

Mabber just illustrated that point perfectly.

He didn't say the Pacers...he said Indiana. Indiana who has won an assload of NCAA championships...

Everyone knows the Pacers haven't won an NBA championship...just like everyone knows the Mavs haven't either. Only a Mav thinks that's exclusive knowledge.

Actually, I said Indiana. It was a simple mistake, and you will get roasted for it here until you learn to accept the ribbing.

EDIT: Too late; time to watch as whottt separates his quarry from the herd...

His next nugget of wisdom:

Um, the Grizzlies have never won an NBA Championship

That's because the league is rigged.

Jamaal Wilkes, UCLA '73 / Warriors '74?

ShoogarBear
06-25-2006, 11:28 AM
Nope. I at first thought Wilkes was one, but his career actually went:
-UCLA 1972-1973 (won title)
-UCLA 1973-1974 (finished 3rd)
-GS 1974-1975 (won title and Rookie of the Year)

My guess:
John Havlichek; Ohio State, then the Celtics

ShoogarBear
06-25-2006, 01:21 PM
No on Havlicek.

Here's a hint: both names were mentioned in my other trivia thread.

KC Jones?
He was teammayes with Russell at both USF and the Celtics; tho, if memory serves, it seems like he was injured for either a large part of one of the Dons runs, or came back from an injury just in time for the playoffs

Okay, since everyone seems to have stopped trying, the answers are:

Bill Russell (USF 1956, Celtics 1957)
Henry Bibby (UCLA 1972, Knicks 1973)
Magic Johnson (Michigan State 1979, Lakers 1980)
Billy Thompson (Louisville 1986, Lakers 1987)
