Yeah. You want our wildfires? How 'bout the dead grass and plants? Maybe the cracks in the ground that you can put your whole foot in?

I'll take any amount of rain on any day at my house.

move to cali bitches!!!

No.

The only place I would live in California is San Diego, and they have the same problems with drought that we do. The last time I was there, they were having horrible wildfires. The only difference is, it's a little cooler there than here. But, I'm not moving anywhere. I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could.

It rained in Yuma last night. If you can call a 5 minute drizzle, followed by a 5 minute downpoor, followed by a 5 minute drizzle rain.

Hey, it's all I know!

That was the areas monsoon :rollin

It has been raining in Philly for the past 3 days.

Philly is getting DC's leftover rain.

We've been having hellacious thunderstorms for like foru days, and the forcast is for rain just about everyday through the 4th.

That means August is going to be wicked with mosquitoes.

Oh, we get the high temperatures. It's just that we get the 97% humidity, too.

The only place I know that compares to DC is Houston. I haven't decided which is worst.

I have a hard time calling it lucky. We have had 3" of rain at the ranch in the last year and everything is brown and dead. I am about to go pick up another trailer load of round bales for the horses at $100 each which is fucking outrageous but everyone else south of town is in the same boat. Drought sucks.

Did you have 2 weeks of 100-degree+ temperatures in May; with humidity in the 80% range BUT NO RAIN? Doubt it. You can't be seriously comparing the summers in DC to the summers in S Texas. Can you?

I've spent plenty of summers in both. I'll take South Texas every time compared to Houston or DC.

Ohhhh your basement flooded?! That sucks...my uncle who lives in Ohio said that a lot of people there got flooded basements as well.

jman3000
06-28-2006, 12:04 PM
what is this "basement" you speak of?

ShoogarBear
06-28-2006, 02:08 PM
Actually "flooded" is an overstatement. I have a problem with recurrent gutter clogging, and if I'm not vigilant, water cascades down the front of the house foundation into the basement, soaking the carpet along the wall.

I had to replace the carpet once. This time may not be too bad, I've got the fans and dehumidifier going and hopefully will get it dried out before anything sets in.
