NEW YORK (AP) -- Stu Jackson, the NBA disciplinarian, is one of five executives promoted by the league.
Jackson, Ski Austin, Rick Buchanan, Bill Koenig and Sal LaRocca were promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president in their previous positions, the NBA announced Wednesday.

Jackson is the head of basketball operations, Austin is in charge of events and attractions and Buchanan is general counsel. Koenig is a general counsel who runs business affairs and LaRocca is in charge of global merchandising.
Steve Herbst (general manager of NBA TV) and Danny Meiseles (NBA TV production and programming) were promoted to senior vice president. Harvey Benjamin (executive counsel of business and finance) was previously senior vice president of business affairs and NBA entertainment.
The new positions take effect July 1
