He needs to come through in the playoffs. I don't know what is up with him but his playoff numbers are unbelievably terrible.

its called horrible teammates who cant shoot and no low post presence

Nene is going to remain a Nugget and fill the low post void

Now the Nuggets just need shooters who can spread the floor

The Nuggets will be wanting to move that contract in 3 years. Carmelo is as good as he's ever going to get.

Damn, who isn't a max player these days? I wonder what Luke Ridnour and David West are going to ask for. :lol

At 26.5 ppg on 48% shooting while being the best clutch shooter in the league, I'd say Carmelo is a max player.

Just because he's only 22 doesn't mean he's going to get better. I think he is overhyped. He already has problems with getting out of shape and he has some character issues. I really don't think he's as good as people think.

You must've missed the playoffs.

with all the glory carmelo has brought the nuggets, why not give him the max... oh wait...

This was a good move by the Nuggets, but if they want him here they are gonna ave to either get rid of K-Mart or get his problems out of the way so he can play. I say that if they don't advance to the 2nd round by the 07-08 playoffs, he'll demand a trade.

Carmello is one of those players that has game, but he's just not THE GUY that is going to take your team anywhere. He's mentally weak.

yeah i have to agree, even though in the ncaa tournament he did seem like a very deadly hardcore type of player

the dude is still learning and did so much growing up last year. He is only going to get better but you cant expect him to be solid and clutch come playoff time when he has 3 defenders on him.

The Clippers were deadset just leaving other guys open and collapsing on Melo coz none of the other guys could hit shots to save their lives. That is going to change this season, shooters will be brought in.

Don't get me wrong Nuggets Fan I like him a lot but his playoffs struggles would worry me if I were a Denver fan. He wasn't guarded like you said he was double teamed but not more than other star perimeter players like Lebron and D-Wade were. He probably needs only 1 big playoff game to get the monkey off his back, then he'll relax and start lighting it up imo. It's mostly mental imo.

yeh, you could see him getting frustrated during the series.

Even just having someone to open up the floor a bit will help as well. The Nuggets are having many talks with different trades about getting some help (eg AI, JR Smith (obviously a project) etc etc) to do that.

Nene will sign with the Nuggets as soon as he is allowed to and that will solve the low post issue in terms of both offense and defense. I almost have forgotten what its like to have a Nuggets big man who actually has a post game :lol

I like Carmelo and the guy has game. As mentioned, he is a clutch player and had a very solid season last year. Great move by the Nuggs. I think Carmelo will compete very hard next season and try to prove that he is a legitimate superstar in this league. Good for him.
