Texas is one of Ford Motor Co.'s largest markets and continued growth here is important to the automaker's turnaround, Mark Fields, Ford's president for the Americas, said during a visit to San Antonio this past week.
Fields met with dealers here Tuesday, and visited the Alameda Theater, to which the automaker has pledged $5.5 million for renovations and to help build the associated Museo Americano.
Texas accounts for up to 14 percent of Ford's annual U.S. sales, and in San Antonio, nearly one in four new vehicles sold is a Ford, the majority of those F-series pickups, the company said
