Isn't Jeff Foster available? I always liked his game and think he would be a force in the middle the Spurs need.

His contract runs through 08/09 and AFAIK he's not on the block.

Too bad..maybe Indiana is open to a trade? He's also from Texas, I believe.

He is from San Antonio.

And he works out in the Spurs practice facility every summer.

But I still don't think that the Spurs can get him. :)

Jeff Foster is exactly the kind of player this team needs. I don't know why he keeps getting mentioned here though, because Indiana isn't going to give him to us for Beno and his man-purse.

Foster would be fantastic. Rebounds the fuck out of the ball and usually gets at least 2/3 tip-ins a game.

Bummer it won't happen.

So what if he is from Texas. That doesn't make him any better.

Not really but Indiana want to sign Al Harrington and they will need to do a S&T with Atlanta. I don't see Atlanta being interested in Croshere, Jasikevicious, Jackson or Tinsley. A S&T with Foster is maybe the most likely solution and Atlanta is maybe more interested in a offensive player like Scola than in a defensive player like Foster after their draft.

All in all I can imagine a trade like that (a little pipe dream)

Indiana trade Foster for Harrington (S&T, $50M/ 6 years, if Harrington want more Indiana can add another player)
Spurs trade Williams + $3M in cash + Scola for Foster
Atlanta trade Harrington for Scola + Williams + $3M

Then Atlanta work in a buyout at $3M with Williams. Williams will likely accept since he can after earn $1.2M by signing with Nets for the min.
