Harrington Has Pacers In Mind

Indianapolis Star - While the Pacers are set to target Hawks free agent Al Harrington now that they've lost out on the services for Peja Stojakovic, the Indianapolis Star is reporting that the interest is mutual.

"I know there has been some interest there in Indiana," Harrington said. "I've always considered Indiana home. To come back, it would be like I never left."

Now that there is no other small forward on that team, he'll finally be the starter. It's the reason why he demanded a trade out of Indy in the first place.

An odd little tidbit:

Should the Pacers find a way to obtain Harrington, they would likely have a starting frontline of Harrington, O'Neal and Danny Granger.

No Jack?

Stephen Jackson has started at the shooting guard position.

Danny Granger looked to be the future small forward for that team. That means Al Harrington would have to play the power forward position, which he stated last year he would prefer not to play. Jermaine O'Neal at center is ok, but JO has also made statements that he would like a big bruiser to play alongside so he could play outside more. So, while talent-wise, Granger, Harrington, and JO would be great, two of them would be playing out of position. And, against some bigger teams, they would be at a disadvantage.
