Chris Webber has 2 years on his contract worth about 40 million.
Hm.
Maybe it's not such a good idea after all.

I bet you Isiah Thomas would do it since he loves having a team full of guards. :rolleyes
First it was how he has too many forwards. Now it's too many guards. Which is it? Make up your mind haters.

It took Williams two grueling years to recover from the injuries, and finally, he appears healthy enough to join another team and take the court again.
A source tells us that Williams is expected to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow (Friday). Apparently, Williams was supposed to sign with the New Jersey Nets last week, but on draft night, while aboard the Nets private jet, he had the misfortune of watching Connecticut’s Marcus Williams – arguably the highest-rated point guard in the draft – slide all the way down to 22, where New Jersey snatched him to back up Jason Kidd.
Williams had a strong workout with his hometown Nets, and you could tell he wanted to play there. But Philadelphia won’t be far from his family, and even if Allen Iverson doesn’t get dealt – we keep hearing he won’t – Williams has a very good chance to become the No. 2 point guard in Philly when the season begins.
